Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

32 bars and lounges are within the Co Op.

At a Manchester business function last week it was mentioned they expect the venue to be used every day - even when there are no gigs.

They also reckon that residencies are the new thing - in the near future that you may see mega artists playing a month residency.

We’ve already seen Take That The Eagles Liam Gallagher and The Killers named for multiple gigs so it’s defo possible

I won’t ever get to see the Bentley room apart from images and a short video.

I can imagine almost every Director, Pep, the players have bought a hospitality box and or a hospitality pakage at the Coop Live Arena.

Can’t see the price anywhere online. I presume that if you need to ask the price you can’t afford it.

@jrb looks good, I see you in there busting some moves before a game lol, I posted this before getting rid of the GA+ section and installing a double-sided goalline bar that can service City Hall and the lower part of the North stand.

Please look at the drawing 2 bars in City Hall are not going to serve that many people, even for events

Here is what Everton is doing in their stadium in their West Stand, the South Stand at their new stadium is their copy of the Yellow Wall, still think Spurs stadium is the one to copy

It’s probably not, what with the cost of rent, business rates, gas and electricity, produce, meat, food ingredients, staff wages, etc. Restaurants, pubs and bars are closing daily across the UK. Saying that, pubs, bars and restaurants in the city centre always look busy and seem to be doing well, which is probably down to the ever growing young and affluent city centre population, which hasn’t spread to Holt Town and Brunswick yet. The young and affluent city centre population is slowly creeping closer to the Etihad.

The fact that Tesla has opened up a car dealership next to the Etihad is another good sign of confidence in the area.

Designed by Hodder + Partners and approved in 2021, Brunswick Mill will provide a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments across two phases.

The first part of the Bradford Road project to come forward will be the conversion of the existing mill building.

The second phase will see four- and seven-storey new-build elements built to provide the remaining 127 homes.

As Lexstar pointed out, all the bars and restaurants in the Coop Live Arena will be open before and after the performances.
Used to muck about on the roof of that mill as a kid ;-)

If the developer is called big red I think it’s safe to assume it wont be anything to do with city!

Not sure ,there aren't many bands that could do a residency, and most of those that could would rather do a handfull of stadium gigs.

Someone may get to do it but will probably bottle it last minute...

The numbers must add up as an alternative. Artists can charge far more for an Arena show than a stadium gig.

Overheads of a big stadium tour are huge compared to an arena tour. Having multiple dates at one venue is much cheaper than travelling round the country.

Why would Take That play 8 dates at the Co Op instead of 3 stadium shows ? The numbers must add up. Liam Gallagher The Killers and The Eagles playing multiple dates when they could have done stadium shows. Pearl Jam playing Spurs stadium but then choose the Co-Op for the next date.

And this is where the game will change. Make the fans come to the artist instead of going to them.

A residency becomes a destination event - and the Co Op has the facilities to cater for a lot more than just the gig.

Very few artists could do a major residency lasting weeks - but tell me how many bands have played multiple dates at the AO in recent years compared to what we are seeing for June at the Co Op.

The landscape is changing.
