How many had you had when you took that? ;)
You’ll be more impressed (concerned) when I tell you it was from a moving car.
Passenger seat of course!

Like it, someone mentioned tall tower for views of Manchester, if happens I’m going for ‘Kompany towers’ (over Manchester)...and could we call this arena 'The David Silva Arena' so that our favourite son will live forever in our minds!
I have no doubts about CFA doing operations if they wished, as you say there are many little private hospitals doing so, but they are treating everything which keeps them viable. By that I mean maintaining the standards and staff required to maintain a service. If City are willing to do likewise and essentially invite local orthopaedic surgeons to practice out of CFA then fair enough. The involvement of Hope then leads to the nhs using the facility which lowers the ‘private’ standard of care. So it essentially become bridgewater or cheadle royal in city surroundings. This isn’t the vision city had in the statement you presented of being a world class surgical training unit doing top sportsman’s injuries, which I just don’t see as viable, with my clinician hat on, for many reasons.
In my view the club need to push forward with building the arena next to the stadium and use the O2 (in London) development as a template. This would ensure the Etihad campus is being used seven days a week. It would put East Manchester on the map. A top football stadium, arena, cinema, restaurants, shops and top class hotel. Perhaps fans could also climb the Etihad and take in the views of the stadium and all sides of wider Manchester. I suspect after the disappointment of losing the education partner will make the club and council push forward in create something that will draw in other partners that will help the area fulfil its true potential. Build a top class lankmark with things to do and the people and other businesses will come.
It needn’t but sadly often doesIt might lower the level of customer service / hospitality, it needn’t lower the standard of care.
These little private hospitals are doing breast augmentation on Love Island winners, not on Premier League footballers. Do you really think CFA wouldn't know how to treat multi millionaire sports superstars?I have no doubts about CFA doing operations if they wished, as you say there are many little private hospitals doing so, but they are treating everything which keeps them viable. If anyone knows how to pamper & look after multi millionaires, it's got to be Manchester City... :-)It might lower the level of customer service / hospitality, it needn’t lower the standard of care.
Your getting too steamed up about this mate. I have no doubt whatever happens with the area will indeed blow my socks off, the previous ten years have. These little private hospitals are doing breast augmentation on Love Island winners, not on Premier League footballers. As I stated at the very beginning of our exchange, this venture isn't about City's financial bottom line. This is no different to cutting the grass in your own garden, or employing someone to do it for you. You still get the job done, it still costs you fuel, but all the other costs are in house, essentially saving you money. On top of this we can still offset most of the costs by selling our expertise, just like CFG's scouting network do.
However, saving money isn't our primary concern. It's about having a world class facility right on our doorstep, with a world class learning & training facility added. This is something even large private hospitals can't offer. There are too many huge organisations invested in this for it not to be a world class facility.
On top of this, Sportcity will be a major destination for sport, learning, training & hopefully leisure, and right in the middle of this is Manchester City Football Club. This is the vision of City Football Group & Manchester City Council.
When I attended that conference at The Etihad in 2009, the one thing which was very apparent is that City were not messing around with this. There was a very clear plan & we could taste the determination to succeed. You've seen part one of this with the CFA & the first part of the stadium expansion which were all promised that day.
Have faith that City know what they're doing. Trust me, the plans we have for East Manchester over the next 10 years will blow your socks off. Still not convinced? Just look at what we've achieved in the previous 10 years. This is why I'm so proud of my club.
We already have other sports organisations using our facilities. Do you really think they place the welfare of their sports stars, above where this world class facility is situated?Your getting too steamed up about this mate. I just question the feasibility of City having a surgical unit on site which may be used on our multimillion pound footballers rarely. It’s not feasible but if city reckon they will all the acl’s from other clubs and sports great news. Personally I don’t think it will happen but let’s see. If happens great news for city
I'm struggling to think of a tourist attraction that will be successful. East Manchester is growing, so it needs to be something that will be used regularly used by the community. Start with the arena and build it from there. Manchester City needs to be its focal point, but maybe there will be a chance to attract more sports to the campus i.e. Ice Hockey, Basketball, Netball, Hockey to name but a few?Agree, got to be something along the lines of a tourist attraction
