Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

An excellent drone video showcasing the Coop Live Arena. Featuring some great shots of Joe Mercer Way, the Etihad, and the Manchester skyline.(at the end of the video)

We are incredibly proud to have worked with film producer Stuart O’Donnell at Boardwalk Studio in Manchester to create a stunning sustainability campaign video for Manchester City Football Club. Using a combination of our cutting-edge FPV and traditional drones, we captured dynamic and immersive aerial shots that brought the club’s sustainability efforts to life.

This project was particularly exciting as it required both the precision and speed of our FPV drones for close-up, high-energy shots, and the stability of our traditional drones for sweeping, cinematic visuals. Our team’s expertise in drone cinematography allowed us to seamlessly blend these two techniques, resulting in breathtaking footage that perfectly highlights the club’s commitment to sustainability.

At Aerialworx, we pride ourselves on pushing creative boundaries, and this collaboration with Stuart and Manchester City FC is a perfect example of how innovative drone technology can elevate storytelling in the world of sports.

I have no problem with any club, league or non league, having debt.
What pisses me off about this club is they got (and still get) an unfair advantage over other non league clubs. First, no other club would have been able to obtain the money they did. More importantly, no other club would be allowed to have the debt without making regular repayments so that the debt is cleared.
If/when it goes belly up, the residents of Manchester will be the losers because that money could have been used to fund other, financially responsible projects.
This lot are like the other lot, normal rules do not apply to them.
Of course critics could argue City were given a “free stadium” (their phrase, not mine) and the council raided their savings to contribute to it too - the difference being it was an investment from Manchester City council - the money invested has been repaid and will continue to be added to each year, indeed every time there is an event on at the ground City are giving back to residents. Manchester residents and the town hall have benefited from this investment and will continue to as long as the Blues play there.

On the other hand there has been absolutely no benefit to residents from council tax payers money given to this alleged / so called community club. From day one it’s just been take, take, take. The only “community group” to benefit have been themselves.

Manchester City was not given a free Stadium far from it, Maine Road and the land were used and City had to pay for all the new seats and stands, MCC don't own the stadium as well, I think it was part of Sport England and Money from the commonwealth committee the government setup.

FCUM is hated by the people of Moston and will never be a community club. It was never set up to be one.

The original deal from Maine road was we gave our stadium up and took over the city of Manchester stadium as it was if we reached a capacity of over 34000 which was what Maine road held we paid the council a fee, this allowed the council to get the commonwealth games, without us giving Maine road up these games probably would never of happened, this benefited us both as Maine road was falling apart in reality.
Fc scum came from the glazers take over the rebels who didn't want it. let them fund it

Stadium build cost £112 was funded by Sport England £77m and MCC
Conversion cost was £22m funded by MCC then moving in fitting out MCFC £20m

So what was the price for Maine Road and Land, I thought we sold Maine road and land we owned to the MCC.
Also we have had 3 or 4 major refits at the Etihad that City paid for plus the New Northstand so it all adding up close to close to £1billion City have put into the stadium

I may be (probably) wrong but £47M comes to mind… there was something about Tesco(?) offering to but MR and re-house City on Hough End…
Or I may just have been dreaming…

From what i can remember is the finishing off the stadium from a athletic stadium to a football stadium City paid for
So maybe the sale of maine road and land paid for it, City 100% paid for the stand to be built

The completion of the Joie Stadium installation marks a major milestone in the Club’s ongoing solar panel project. In total, the sustainable project will see the introduction of more than 10,500 solar panels across our industry-leading training facility, the City Football Academy.

Once complete, the panels will generate enough renewable energy to offset the annual power requirements needed to run the City Football Academy, making it one of the largest producers of renewable energy in world football.
