Feasibility studies for development of Etihad Stadium entertainment destination are underway
Manchester City has today announced it is undertaking feasibility studies to develop a best-in-class fan experience and a year-round entertainment and leisure destination at the Etihad Stadium.www.mancity.com

We knew it was coming but it’s still very exciting news. It will be great to have thousands more jobs in the area and a 60k stadium. We could probably sell 60k seats now if people had more chance to sit in groups of friends and family.
I don’t care too much about a hotel but it will be good to see more of the plans for a year round destination.
Sounds like some Metrolink improvements mooted on here are happening, althiugh the transport links are unlikely to be great any time soon. Most of us can handle the walk into town or to cara parked a fair distance away.
I think improving the atmosphere (I know there’s another thread on that) needs to be in the planning now and hopefully fans groups will work together on this.maybe blocks fir Supoorterrs Clubs in the New Stand could be an option to boost the good work of 1894.
Exactly. A 12 lane expressway linking the Etihad to the M60 is all that is required. Simples.Always find it odd that these announcements focus on links to the cty centre, from what I see nuch of our support goes north south and east after the matches so improving those links would surely help the net carbon more?

The feasibility studies will consider several connected elements, central to which is an expanded North Stand, which would increase the capacity of the Etihad Stadium to over 60,000.
Alongside this, the study will assess the feasibility of an expanded and covered ‘City Square’ fan zone with food and drink outlets, a new club shop, museum and workspace, together with an onsite hotel.
It doesn’t actually give much away.
Ha, I’m not moaning in the slightest, I’m sure it’ll be amazing whatever they do.Instead of moaning on this site use the Free post and put your suggestions in a letter
Fair points. I’ve just got a new pair of comfy waking shoes. If / when the Tram is closed for HS2 we will have a replacement bus service.Metrolink is shut 2024-2026 (at the earliest) and local parking plan means improved transport is a comfy pair of walking boots.

this on transport:
Proposals should offer a choice of mobility, with pedestrian and cycle provision as a priority, through the creation of excellent pedestrian and cycling connections and associated cycling amenities.
• Maintain the existing car parking provision and delivery of existing transport plans including agreed measures to protect residential amenity.
what are the existing transport plans?

They're removing the existing Metrolink stop which will force everybody to walk or cycle into town. This Net Zero thing is easy."
An expanded Residents' Parking Scheme and improvements to the Metrolink are currently being implemented.
All new facilities would support Manchester's Net Zero by 2038 target, with measures being looked at to support walking and cycling links with the city centre.

Wait, what?
TBF given some of the reasoning on here would you base a multi million pound project on opinions from Bluemoon? The article/study basically being a “we already know what we are doing but pretending to give a shit about the fans’ opinions”, lol.
Do you mean to say there isn't going to be a Rovers Return selling a pint of mild with a barmaid who always knows your name, catering selling your favourite pie (and none of this vegetarian muck), an endless fleet of trams without any queues, and an atmosphere ripped from a South American derby that only sings the right songs at the right tempo that you personally don't have to participate in?!?!TBF given some of the reasoning on here would you base a multi million pound project on opinions from Bluemoon?
