Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Bit of a shit name that, tbh.

Local business with local history attached, plus cooperative movement ideals at the core of the project with plans to contribute to the Zero Carbon Campaign* ... what’s not to like?

*The Co-op building in Town is the greenest buildings in the world.

If this Arena can boast the same, that’ll be great.

Harry Styles invests in Manchester's new £350m music arena and says 'it feels like coming home'

Styles said: "I’m incredibly proud and excited to be partnering with OVG on their plans for Coop Live. Manchester is an incredible city, filled with incredible people, and I couldn’t be happier being involved in this project.

"It very much feels like coming home.

The same form who sold part of its business to another insurance firm. Once this was completed they then transferred the staff to capita.

If they have enough money to do this sponsorship. They surely should have enough money to retain their staff.

Hey Coop, while you're at it, can we have some decent meat and fish in our local store?

Construction work can start on the Arena. OVG and the city council agree terms. Government will not call in the approved planning application.

Great news - some much needed jobs in these tough times.

Clearly great news for the local economy. Very happy it's going ahead - BUT- surely it's a huge risk with COVID still looming? Will we see a return to full capacity concerts in the next few years?

Drone video posted on YouTube on the 11th of November. Don’t know when it was filmed.

Took 2 screen grabs from the video. Enlarged the original. Slightly blurred.

When the current lockdown is lifted at the start of December I will begin taking pictures of the Arena development, like I did with the CFA and SS expansion, and continue to do so every month for the next 3 years until the arena is built. The initial pictures won’t be very exciting. Prep work, etc.

Loads of great shots of the city centre skyline in the drone video. Well worth a watch.

That's great. Thanks for posting it? I wonder where they are going to park all those cars that used to go on the Arena site on matchdays?
