Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Slightly off topic. But relevant. Great Ancoats Street is having a major refurb. This is what it will eventually look like all the way along it. Obviously this will cause more traffic disruption. Looks good though. :-)

They tried this with Chapel St as well, and all that caused was narrow lanes and wide pavement, no "European style" cafes and coffee houses.

Why is it always sunny on an architects impression? After all it's Manchester. Should be cloudy with people struggling through sideways rain and a spice head or two lying around to make it more realistic

You mean bring back TS Lowry ;-)

Ahhhh the old wine bar on the corner of Great Ancoats Street and Oldham Street. Where a fellow blue and I started many a night out in what's now the NQ.
Sweet memories.

And the pub opposite closed for ten years after City and Utd met up

The prices will be a lot higher than £155k for whatever replaces what’s there now.

PC, I think you will be right. All the indications are that this will be the case. Higher house rices will reflect an improved environment, improved range and quality of homes and very close proximity to the jobs in Manchester along with a further uplift all around The Etihad.
It has been a remarkable turn round over the last 20 years and there is more to come.
And, lets not forget, it was top Blues - the CEx and Leader of Manchester City Council and CEx of NEM before it was disbanded, who were instrumental in making all this happen.
