Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

B&Q have been running 3 tins of paint for the price of 2 tins of paint throughout that 18 month period. ;-)

Guessing.

I think City will hold off any refurbishment or redevelopment of City Square until the COOP Live Arena is close to being completed.

That gives City almost 3 years to come up with new proposals for City Square and to deliver them.

It's unthinkable that City will leave City Square, 'Joe Mercer Way', and the surrounding area as they currently are, adjacent to a brand new £350mill indoor arena.

I'd like to think and hope City are looking at the souvenir store, City Square, and the surrounding area, and how it currently ties in with, and how it should tie in with the new arena.

Think the COOP Live arena has had a tweaked and more content and information has been added. See the Prolific North article and the COOP Live website link below

Manchester’s new 23,500 capacity arena, Co-op Live, has appointed Dept and Music to create its new website and promotional film.

Not expecting a full renovation before the arena is done, but a luck of paint and a quick tarting up of it wouldn’t be too much to ask surely.

It looks bloody awful.

Pride Park, Craven Cottage, Brentford, City Ground.

Our exterior for a club of out stature and wealth is bad to the point of embarrassing.

Maybe you’ve just got really really bad taste?

The Etihad looks on another level to that IKEA flat pack stadium that is Pride Park.

The other grounds you mentioned are shocking and dated as well. Even Brentford’s brand new stadium looks cheap from the outside, although the new stand at Fulham does look nice.

I am not talking just of the stadium.

Our stadium design in my opinion is good, could be stunning if LED wrapped.

I am talking about access areas , walkways, road/pavement condition, just general upkeep.

I paid for the City Circle scam as a tribute to my dad, what an utter farce and embarrassment that was, it was a shambles on completion and sums up the whole area.

I remember buying that Umbro shirt, that was identical to the one we had the previous season, but with a dark blue slash on the sleeve!!!!
They didn't have a medium in stock so someone at the shop said try a small. A couple of em said 'Yeah fits perfectly that'.
Went home proudly wearing 'tight fitting' top, until family and mates took the piss asking if it was a vest!!!!!!!!!

Fair play to Janice and her team they got a sale!!!!!!!!
It was a proper tin pot affair that shop!
Very much the staff did a great job and it was far from ideal I'm guessing working there!

Anyone know when and where the player statues will be erected? Surely this will require a resetting of this area.

I would be nice if 2, 3 or 4 locations were picked by the club around the Etihad Stadium, and the club asked the fans to pick a preferred location via a season ticket and citizens card holder vote on the OS.

Leicester and Liverpool proceeding with ground expansion
Leicester are investing a lot in infrastructure. They've already moved into the new training complex (£100millions worth) and as well as expanding the ground:-

Preliminary plans by Thai owners King Power International, who bought the club in 2013, also include a 220-bedroom hotel and a multi-purpose event and entertainment venue as part of developments to the surrounding area of the stadium.

There are also proposals for a new Leicester City retail space, residential and commercial space, and multi-storey car parking facilities.

Another club copying city then!
