Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

I don’t think people like Khaldoon have or would ever have a walk around the grounds of the stadium. They’d be chauffeured to the front door when they arrived and straight back into cars to chauffeur them away.

I’d describe the grounds around the Etihad as grubby, run-down and out of date.

They’ve not even paid some bloke to go round with a jet wash. It’s shocking how shit it is.

Perhaps the Sheik could have it paved with gold blocks. Would boil some piss at the Old Toilet.

Good grief...are people really concerened about a bit of flaky paint 50 yards from the stadium.

And as for the thought that Khaldoon is responsible for touch up jobs around the stadium !!! Ha

Walking across flaking paint to and from a world class £350mill arena that City have aqiured 50% off is not a good advert for the Etihad Stadium and wider Etihad Campus.

I still think City will redevelop City Square into something much more impressive in conjunction with the opening of the arena in 3 years time. There's no point in doing it yet or in the near future.

In good old Manchester - City Square - really needs to be covered. With a proper plan it could be possible to get the majority of fans in City Square both before and after games with the club taking the overwhelming majority of food and drink spending - if they only did it right.

Not a good advert for the most important thing of all MCFC.

We have become a global attraction, seeing the outside of our stadium must make a lot of tourists think WTF!

Walked past the site the other day when visiting the club shop for my Laurent Charvet PJ set, have to say it's going to be some arena.

Maybe we can arrange a football equivalent to the Natwest Cricket Force weekend and all go down with a paintbrush and some paint...

iits hardly a concern in the scheme of things, a bit of paintwork. Or if it is a concern , it just shows how good everything else must be.
I guess that's the sort of reply the club would give, but everything should be of a certain standard welcoming clean and aesthetically pleasing (where possible) the outside of the stadium where the paying fans gather before the games is well below what we should have to accept.
Think of it this way, the media and pundits who regularly slag us off, make false accusations and do so much more to harm our image are given the best facilities the best food and drink all for free.
I would hazard a guess who ever is responsible for providing our facilities couldn't careless.

Think the outside facilities are better than most grounds, the tatty paintwork hardly noticeable when full of people. It will get improved but probably when the arena is finished.

Exactly !!! Do you think any other club are arsed about what things look like 50 yards from stadium.

I’m sure there will be plans to change City Square once the Arena i progressing and ready to open

give the ticket office staff some paintbrushes they must be good at something

It could be worse there’s a ground just outside the manor what fits the “all fur coats and no knickers” description.
