Mockup exterior cladding.

I'll post the other arena pictures later on. The canal bar area is starting to take shape and looks very promising.

This ‘from the horses mouth’ though im sure most will know this info

North stand extension starts as soon as the arena is finished
It will mirror the south stand (no ‘yellow wall’)
It will incorporate hotels and eateries etc and the superstore.

City square and the superstore will go in its current guise but will be re-done.
Superstore within the stand, square pushed further back.

There will be eatery/bar links to the arena from the stadium

Probs a titanic post this but got told on saturday by a man who knows

Oh and city bought that merc garage and that will be hotel/housing

All except the Merc former showroom is known I think. I thought that was up for rent? Is it us putting it up for a short time lease perhaps?

Disappointing there won’t be at least an expanded 2nd tier but the South Stand doesn’t look half bad to tell the truth.

Hopefully they’ll move the North Stand screens to the south side when they start development and cover up those corner sores.

My mate works for Laing O’Rourke. He’s seen the photos but can’t share anything for fear of getting the boot. Top, Too Secret.
An extra 8,000 seats but he says it’s the plaza and external images that are “wow”.

Late 2023 - Arena completed.
Late 2023 - Further images of planned expansion released.
Early 2024 - Ground works for expansion begin.
Summer 2024 - Full scale construction begins.
Summer 2025 - New stand completed in time for 25/26 season.

Potentially there’s a chance this could all move a year forward and they start early 2023 but the above seems more likely right now.

I wonder if we carrying on growing at the current rate we are now they’ll look at expanding the Colin Bell and East stands. We’ve all seen that concept that’s been posted on here a few times over the years with all stands extended. Would love City to have a 75000 stadium.

Steel going in that will support the LED halo around the top of the arena.

The crane in the centre of the arena should be erected in November to lift the roof trusses into place.(if the build is still on schedule?)

Back of the arena adjacent to the rear car parks.

Insulation cladding being installed at the back of the arena.

Thats i dont know. Think its pretty common knowledge that we are buying up all available land from etihad to city centre, very much wanting to ‘expand’ the city centre out.

The lease is up for rent. I posted the PDF sales brochure on the thread recently. I came across the info on Linkedin.

Yeah, I read about 4-6 months behind due to supply chain issues.

Would make sense as that would give it a year and a half for completion. Time scale will probably be a bit longer than the south stand as there seems to be more involved with this expansion.

The last time I spoke to 2 Bam Managers they said it was tight, but everything was being thrown at the build.

The roof trusses going up will give a good idea. That is supposed to be in November.
