Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

I'm sure it will be done closer to the opening of just the North stand, or of the whole redevelopment of the North stand. All it requires is a new layer of tarmac along the length of JMW. I hope JMW isn't painted again. TBH I thought it looked shit. The paint hasn't stood the test of time.
The last time was a re-colour wasn't it? If they strip it and redo it with a blue tarmac it'll look very smart, even add Ultiglow to it. Would be fabulous for a night match coming up JMW

I cannot agree. These coloured coatings and finishes are expensive and do not wear well (as shown by the blue paint) nor does block paving on long pathways. My preference would be for a standard, quality, durable, non-slip tarmac coating, preferably porous to avoid puddling with quality edging for appearance.

I would like to see quality (not fancy) street furniture including decent lighting, robust benches and clear signage along JMW.

If I was talking about a coloured coating I'd agree with you. But I'm talking about a quality, durable, non-slip asphalt coating, that just happens to be blue. The pigment is added in the production process so all of the tarmac is blue. The Ultiglow is an additional component that just makes it luminescent, because I like shiny things.

Not sure what's wrong with the signage as the grounds in front of you and the car parks at the opposite end. Seating will just be at the side because it's just an obstacle and never noticed a problem with the lighting whether it's a night match or exiting a concert.

You don't mean tarmac do you?

It needs to be something like hot rolled asphalt.

The surface needs to be contoured and laid to falls to stop the annoying puddles that a evident now.

Sounds like they're changing some of the levels, so lower tier is Level 0 now instead of Level 1, and if you were previously in block 120 you'll now be in 020.

Row labelling will also change from letters to numbers, which I think is a big improvement. I sit in SS3 and the amount of people particularly for a Champions League game that confuse eg. row LL with Row L is surprising. Think changing to numbered rows makes it easier.

How they going to add those without shutting stuff inside

I guessing they are being built to cater for the Autumn and Winter months. Otherwise that area would only be used during the Summer months and other good weather days throughout the year.
