Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

What difference is it to the old
social club next to Maine Road, concerts in the main Etihad stadium or even the hotel we’re building with regards to revenue that could go into the club coffers?

The money for designing and constructing the Coop Live Arena has to be deducted from any initial Coop Live Arena operating profit. Once that is paid off or paid back, then the Coop Live arena will be making serious money for the CFG and the Oak View Group.

CFG, Oakview Group, and their Coop Live Arena management are smashing it.

Next year's Brit Awards are to be held in Manchester - the first time the ceremony has taken place outside London since the awards began in 1977.

The ceremony will be held at the Co-op Live arena on Saturday 28 February.

A two-year deal means that the 2027 ceremony, which will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Brit Awards, will also be held at the same venue.

The hotels makes a big difference now all those acts will stay there a few 100 yards from the arena

Wonder if they’ll change the date as it’s normally held in March? would’ve been great to have the NS & surrounding facilities up & running. Suppose they’ll get another bite the following year so probably not

CFG own the share in the arena so no impact on the club coffers directly from it

Not surprised the amount they charge for a pint when you're in there

Is this not the same as the previous announcement a month or so ago ? ie canal side bar etc ?

So its the same as the previous proposal ?

Last one didnt have the shipping containers creating indoor space did it?

Previous proposal was just access from the outside terrace to the bar

Peel along with ICITIES are constructing a new 3000 capacity Ice Arena at Trafford City, which will also be the home of Manchester Storm.

So there's another possible usage and proposal gone for the Collar Site.

I'm not saying an Ice Arena was or is being proposed for the Collar site

Peel almost certainly already own the land.

I think it's been mentioned on here although I'm not sure if it's just speculation or not now. Something about the E & W stands if/when they're extended, then the outside footprint would grow, swallowing the spirals so that they're inside the structure.
Any further news on this anyone knows of? The outside looks drab and uninspiring.

Be good to see some work to make it look better.
