thanks ,but forgive my ignorance, who do we lease from, and does that mean we earn f a when we vacate the land?

the land at carrington is unsuitable for building on and is probably leased from the company that took on Shell's site . Maybe a golf course or equestrian centre. City might even have to pay for demolition of buildings on site.
thanks ,i allways thougt we bought the land of the manchester university, thanks for clearing that up .

The training ground was previously a community centre for those in the Partington area etc so the land is leased to Trafford council on the basis it is used regularly. I imagine it will be vacated when the club moves.

We are definately vacating once the acadamy is up and running. The only other training facility which will remain active is Platt Lane as it is the last remaining link to Maine Road

Why are we holding on to Platt Lane? Surely all the age ranges will move to the Ehtihad Campus?

The owners want to keep the last link with our 'Isstry'.

Not sure what they will use it for but it is staying within the club

I think it is now all owned by a Glazer subsidiary. Way back United bought all of Carrington from Shell and we sublet our bit from them. I still think that the future of our leasehold part will be as a gift to he community (as well as Platt Lane).

Agreed, moving the whole club away from Moss Side just wouldn't seem right to me. Glad they are keeping this small link.

I used to play sunday league on those very pitches although they are now somewhat improved, as no doubt are the changing bar facilities ;-)

And no doubt the football, FB ;-)
