Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Ed Thompson (he who runs http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/) is a complete f*ck wit. He doesn't understand what a 'related party' as described by the FFP rule book is even after being sent chapter and verse by Prestwich Blue, Myself and others.
He is a rag BTW - so not difficult to understand why.

Fbloke - please expand???
big new sponsors..

Hope so - I do not believe for one minute that our owners are going to stand still and let those t**ts whore themselves willy-nilly to any corporate organisation going.

Think they are running scared and trying to anticipate our next commercial move - they will soon run out of options - only OT left to sell the rights to.

Of course we have the collar site yet to come to fruition and hopefully an expanded stadium - hope we can tie this in with an FA Cup triumph this season.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

One or two queries and one or two observations. The Etihad deal seems to be rather puzzling: what exactly is sponsored and how much for? I thought it was clear, but it isn't! I assume that it is for the "whole campus", and this meant literally a name for the whole campus, but that within the whole campus individual areas and buildings can have individual sponsors, and the value of the "whole campus" deal would increase as more is added. Am I correct? The second query concerns "forthcoming" deals. Some posters speak about deals to be announced this summer and vast riches "just around the corner". What evidence do they have for this and may I have more detail.

My observation concerns the United training complex deal and FFPR. It seems that this is the last nail in Platini's FFPR coffin. It is acceptable that part of a club's income should come from an American insurance company sponsoring a training complex that the club doesn't actually own. No doubt Bayern will see other opportunities, and a club will find a TV sponsor for its spy cameras in the first team showers literally to "show all", and this will be acceptable to FFPR. These will not be investment and so Platini is happy - as long as the one person who is not allowed to pay money to the club is the one person whose right to do this is the person whose right to do it is enshrined in European law - the owner. Not a chance!

Nobody seems to have mentioned this morning in the reports that United do not even own their training complex anymore.

As part of their debt restructure they began leasing it back from last season.

Wait until they see how much we get for a fucking bridge.

United have been forced to go all around the world flogging stuff off and their commercial revenue is still on par with us.

We haven't even started.

I can't wait until they announce a new airline sponsor later this year...

Indeed.

How can you get sponsorship or sponsor something you don't own? Surely the owner of the training ground should benefit from the sponsorship. I wonder. Perhaps they are getting a % of the new sponsorship deal on the QT?

Just seen the pictures on Sky of the new Aon training ground - thats embarassing when compared to what's going up in East Manchester.
Obviously, there are training grounds and training grounds - our is the latter.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

There not having a new training ground. They are just changing the sign?
So you haven't seen the new AON training ground!?

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Something i've wondered for a while and not sure if it has been touched on by fbloke or anyone else who has any info..

Is there any money to be made by running certain fast food takeaways inside the stadium, McDonalds, KFC, Wimpy, Subway etc or is it moneyless due to them being franchises? I'm sure I read the caterinf at City isn't run inhouse anyway but i'm not 100% on that

We sold the franchise to Jamie Oliver's company to provide all catering, Lindley's provide until the end of the season, that incorporates all inside Stadium catering.

Pretty substantial deal if they sell the naming rights to OT.

Can you imagine the publicity the Rags would get if they were building our training ground?
Just a thought .
