Like it. You can also see how it would be possible to continue this around the remaining stadium should it be required in the future. I would kick the visiting supporters into the top of the east stand, as option 3 on the website (sorry to those sitting in the 3rd tier of the east stand) and have all city behind the net.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

That roof also looks like one from the older style stadium that really keeps the noise in and filters it down to the pitch so would be great to get all City in the new 3rd tier and make a racket up there! Really liking those designs I must say!

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Does anyone else see an even bigger stadium of the future built into that new roof design?

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Got invited to the stadium expansion public display yesterday.(thank you) Had a tour of the display, etc.

The public display is there to gauge opinion. Local Community + City fans. There are basic renders of what the South Stand and North Stand will look like with a 3rd tier on each stand. The renders don't show any detail. Facade, cladding, roof, etc. Internally or externally. The club are still not at that point publicly yet. There are more detailed plans about the Exec/Club level and what it will offer the fans. Plenty of boards. Plenty to read. No model, etc.

The club are looking once again at the possibility of relocating the away fans. 3 options being considered. 1. Stay where they are. 2. Half of the East Stand 3rd tier. Half of the South stand 3rd tier.

All options are still open and are being considered. Once the feedback has been received from the Local Community and City fans, the club will analyze it and work alongside their partners and the authorities. After that they will submit a full planning application in due course.

The club are very keen to engage with the local community and City fans. They want to do this properly.

I can imagine it in many years time. Would be a much larger scale of development and would probably impact on capacity whilst it happened but would add a hell of a lot more seating. One step at a time! It is nice to get some basic info like this now and I can't wait to see it when it is built! Look forward to some more designs being released once City have taken on board public comment and decided their final strategy for the planning application.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Space for the screens still ;)

To be fair, these designs won't be anywhere near final but they do confirm the scale of the expansion.

;)

They'll take down the existing third tier on the Colin Bell and East Stand and make the new super tier go all the way around.

Coming 2025.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Another amazing step in our evolution. 60,000 capacity and affordable season tickets. Our owners are truly impeccable . Thanks to all the contributors in this thread, jrb, GX City and the rest. - consistently the best read on Bluemoon.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

and of course doing the South Stand first means that there will quickly be bigger capacity for concerts and events etc, which are usually staged in the North side of the stadium :-)

In 10 years, we will have a 75-80k stadium rocking to a regular trophy winning team notr just in England, but Europe as well ...

(pinches self)
