Thanks for the update pics jrb, as I was walking up the East spiral yesterday I thought there'd been quite a bit of progress.

Are there offices or similar being included at the back of one of the stands in the stadium as it seems quite a big structure for a relatively small capacity?

Thanks for them JRB.
I just love the fact it's so embedded within that part of Manchester...there's no missing that regeneration really. Far, far better than hiding it away in some rural location.

As for the Cycling rumour...suggestions that the Emirates might sponsor another team there? Sponsor (and invest in?) the National Centre?
Not quite sure how that works with the British and Sky cycling teams based there...

The rest of the pictures taken today.

46 in total.

Sadly it's time to change my old faithful point and shoot Camera. Blotches on the pictures once again. Seeing as my Birthday is coming up, I've decided to treat myself. :)

As per usual click to enlarge.

Special practice area for matches against teams with sloping pitches too. Damn, they've thought of everything.

You'll have to forgive me Som, perhaps i never worded my post well....the mention of the Emirates having a sniff around the possibiliites of a team were seperate to anything around the velodrome...though if true it would be hard to imagine our boys doing nothing especially with what's on thier doorstep. The clocking of a troupe of nippers peeling out of a changing room in the bmx centre all liveried in mercer jackets and the Ashton Canal stretch earmarked for a re-vamp with the 20 mills£ designated for manchester cycle lanes and the more recent news of the desire for a Castlefield type area this side of the city centre may be a secret signal.

If it's been mentioned it must have been a long ways back but what's to become of the Regional Athletics Center once everything is up and running?

The pictures of the Central facility where the players accommodation is are awesome. That's one hell of a facility in its own right. I'd love to be able to see renders and fly throughs of that. Obviously the club aren't going to do that, but its a 5 star facility and the players wouldn't want for anything staying there the night before a match. You never know you might catch one or two of the players at the chippy for a fish supper on Grey Mare Lane. Nice to see the steelwork for the College going up as well.

Before the days get short I am going to stay on the tram to Velopark before tonights game v Wigan you get a great view from there.

Brilliant as always jrb. Like the fact you revisit that position on the canal where you can see someone's back gate; really makes the progress stand out by comparison to the earlier ones you took in the same place.

Good work fella.
