looks grander every passing day

Next step looks to be turf on most pitches. The central building looks ace.

With the number of pitches, the Regional Athletics Stadium, our Reserve stadium, the Etihad Stadium and Butcher's Arms Ground/Ewen Fields up the road, how soon before a major tournament is held at youth, EDS or ladies levels? So much potential.

Good shout acton28,dont want a war but I would add UFCM ground at Moston to your list. It would be a idea for Manchester City Council take up as a way of promoting the City as long as that twat Carney keeps his hands off it.

Eastlands Regeneration Framework: Update Report. Click on link below and then click on item16. As titled.

Two new renders below. Not very clear unfortunately.(the bigger you make the renders, the more blurred they get) Showing how the stadium would look with one or both ends expanded.

The report is a decent read.

As others have been saying, it looks from those (poor) renders that the Colin Bell and East Stand 3rd tiers are going to be expanded closer to the new South Stand and North Stand 3rd tiers.

This has probably been asked a million times so sorry, but is there any chance at all the planning permission will be refused?

Read section 4.6 of the doc that JRB has given the link for and it says...
The architectural challenge in designing an expansion to the stadium is to
respect the original form of the building and at the same time to anticipate its
potential further expansion. The Club’s current demand for additional capacity
means that the extension will be focussed on one or two of the existing four
stands. As such the expansion will therefore unavoidably affect the symmetry
of the existing form. Only when the capacity of the Stadium is further
increased on the eastern and western sides would the building return to a
unified radial form.
The current plans for expansion, whilst possibly being a
stepping stone to the future, importantly needs to work for today.

So there you have it. Confirmation in writing (other than informed hearsay) that there are plans tucked away to extend the sides too at some time in the future...
