I know its not very grown up of me but one of the best bits about these developments is hearing fans of other clubs reactions when they actually see the scale of it all.

There are some who are finally getting it and they are impressed and more than a little worried.

I know what you mean fbloke, I'm exactly the same. I also can't help but get a little bit giddy with what's going on.........and I'm in my 40's now.

Truly spectacular what has happened to our club over the last few years, and the best bit is there is more to come.

I honestly can't wait.

completely pointless question but.. I wonder how the club decided on a capacity of 7000 for the Minihad? Why not 6k or 8k?

Yep. Silly Question.

Popped into the public exhibition before the match.

The new render of the South Stand has been added.

Took some pictures.

It gives some more basic detail of the back/corners of the South Stand stand and how it will configure/link with the Collin Bell and East Stand.

Anyone fancy sitting in the two rows under the scoreboard?

The planning application should be submitted at the end of the Month all being well.

Should finally put some meat on the bones of this one.

It's safe to say the home and away fans won't be so close.

Click twice to enlarge.

Went to see the exhibition myself yesterday and was told there are plans to add rows at bottom of level1 on the 2 sides. Not sure how this would be done without digging down, but from this pic you can see it shown.

I seem to remember the site lines didn't work when you dug down further. I.e you wouldn't be able to see the pitch touch line from certain seats??

You may be right the person in the exhibition didn't know how it was going to be done, just that it was part of the plans. I couldn't see any other way, but cleverer people than me might have other ways of adding a few rows. Digging up the whole pitch does seem a bit over the top just to add a few rows.

I hope we dig down.

The City ground is on a hill so should be above the water table

And the effect of digging down would be to make the fans closer to the pitch which would improve the atmosphere. We should pursue every angle.

I'm fast approaching 44 mate so I think its fair to say that we had the very worst of being a Blue and now it seems the very best.

can't see that happening - pitch is full of undersoil heating and of course its already 7 metres down from the mean ground level - eventually you'd hit something nasty.

I'd suggest they would reprofile the slope of the current bottom four rows so that (for example) for the same drop they fit four more rows in ... like so

X|
X|=
XXX|
XXX|= current
XXXX| profile
XXXX|=
XXXXX|
XXXXX|=

X|
X|=_|
XXXX|=_|
XXXXXXX|=_| new profile
XXXXXXXXXX|=_|
XXXXXXXXXXXXX|=_|
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX|=|
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX|=

You get about 1000 seats for every additional row at the bottom - so worth doing if you can get 3 or 4 extra rows (65,000 capacity anyone?)

That lower tier is very shallow currently. Reckon the shorties would start having their view blocked by tha lankies!
