Are we expecting a sponsorship deal so its renamed from City Football Academy? Or is it just going to be known as the City Football Academy at the Etihad Campus?

Can't see why they wouldn't want to wring every last penny out of this - the mini stadium, the first team bit, all the other pitches, the walkways, the bogs - everything.

Back to dates , that vid mentioned the first team using it from July 2014

Suggesting they are very much on target.

The first video comment appeared to me to be a more casual remark along the lines of "just think, in 12 months time this will be fully operational"

I'm pretty sure the whole point of the "Etihad Campus" sponsorship was meant to cover this base.

Yeah that's how I understood him too.

I see they had some pitches ready for use in Oct already; those ones at the bottom of the pic clearly simulating conditions in Owed Toilet.

Surprised therefore that it's not referred to that regularly in the videos, as knowing how sponsors are name dropped at every opportunity to keep them happy in most other televised events/sports, would have thought calling it the CFA was hinting at renaming it later down the line.

Did'nt somebody official say that areas that can be termed a campus within the campus will need a name and if they have a name they can be sponsered....right about the time Venga had a eppi over the eithad sponsership deal

Thinking about it, there's no reason the campus can't be in use before it's fully finished (depending on specifics, obviously). If the main training areas are finished but not the offices then the team can probably move in and the admin follow later. They probably aimed to have it all finished at once for a big, grand opening without any 'nearly' parts, but I'm already impressed so don't care.
I would have thought it much better to have the squad starting pre-season in the new campus rather than having to move at some point early in the season, even if it means juggling the final fix schedule and maybe delaying ultimate completion a little.

I can see the sign now, 'Toilets, brought to you by Andrex'. Has a certain ring to it!

I assume they won't be sponsored by Benson & Hedges

I stand corrected on these thoughts.

I thought the campus was the stadium, Collar site, and land surrounding the stadium, and not the new training academy.

If this is the case, then the training academy will have it's own sponsorship/s.

We already know the bridge is going to generate revenue via advertising along it.(and the odd Rag jibe)

If you believe the stories, Aon have agreed to sponsor United's training ground for £160mill. The deal is for £30mill a season over 8 years. It is currently with Platini, UEFA, and Gill.(arf!)

Now, just think for 1 minute.

Where is United's training ground and what access is there to it? Exactly. AON might as well have sponsored Colditz .

Contrast and compare it to City's new training academy. Next to the stadium(leisure destination and campus), virtually in the centre of Manchester, and visible to everyone.

So, if United's training ground is worth £160mill in sponsorship, how much is City's worth?(on top of the current Etihad sponsorship deal)
