Where does the word 'Brexit' come from? Is it one of those made up media words where they put two words together or does is actually have a meaning?

Media being cunts again. It's for the Twatter lot, who can't engage with anything unless it has a catchy name. #cunts.Where does the word 'Brexit' come from? Is it one of those made up media words where they put two words together or does is actually have a meaning?
Some of its accurate (especially around bureaucracy) but here's five areas where it's garbage:
1. It is often the elected Eiropean Parliament that blocks the UKs objectives. For example both the Cluncil of Ministers and the Commission supported easements to the European Working Time Directive to support doctors' training but these were blocked by the "elected" Parliament.
We get less out because we are economically more productive. Our reward is to subsidise those who are not.2. Part of the reason we get less out of the EU than some other countries is because we have been reluctant partners. Worse that that, when in the last we used our veto to block other counties priorities we often floated about it. Contrast that with the French who've played a long game by supporting the Commission and other Member States and who then get their rewards when the big money (in the form of the Common Agricultural Pokicy is dished out).
3. The notion that big business here will strengthen the worker' slot if we were out of the EU is fanciful.
4. I had to laugh at Gove claiming credit for us for the end of slavery. Yes there was William Wilberfirce etc but parts of the country got rich on the back of slavery for a very long time.
5. Not in Gove's statement as it doesn't suit his argument but the existence of the EU (and it's forerunners) has helped to keep peace the peace in Europe for seventy years. The no campaigners say this is all down to NATO but the reality is that the countries we used to fight most with (France, Spain and Germany) are not a threat with us together in re EU (as well as NATO).
BRitain and EXIT. GReece and EXIT becomes Grexit. We could have Frexit, Itexit, Spexit, Portexit, Luxexit and so on.
I thought that was the case but wanted to make sure. It's for a different thread but I fucking hate those daft two word 'words'! Why do they do it, to save space for more print or do they think the public are too stupid to understand two words?
I don't think 4 months is long enough for us average joes to get our head around both sides of the arguement for in or out, both sides will be putting out false info,it'll be terrible if we make the wrong choice
Do you want to subsidise Europe to the tune of 10 billion pounds a year, or do you have any ideas on where that money could be spent here?I don't think 4 months is long enough for us average joes to get our head around both sides of the arguement for in or out, both sides will be putting out false info,it'll be terrible if we make the wrong choice
