EU referendum deal (title edited)

It's garbage, from start to finish.
you may be right but I am still voting out. I for one don't believe any of the scare mongering the Eu will have enough on it's plate if we leave and will not be in a position to loose us as a trading partner. We will once again be free to govern ourselves and control our borders.

We will only get one chance at this, look how the Jocks have regretted their vote as it will be at least a generation, if ever, before they get another chance at independence.

We never wanted the EU we joined a common market not this European super state we need to grasp this opportunity with both hands and fact that the politicians know that they are much better off on their own European gravy train is reason enough for me to vote out.

Would you care to explain why you think that?

Some of its accurate (especially around bureaucracy) but here's six areas where it's garbage:

1. It is often the elected Eiropean Parliament that blocks the UKs objectives. For example both the Cluncil of Ministers and the Commission supported easements to the European Working Time Directive to support doctors' training but these were blocked by the "elected" Parliament.

2. Part of the reason we get less out of the EU than some other countries is because we have been reluctant partners. Worse that that, when in the last we used our veto to block other counties priorities we often floated about it. Contrast that with the French who've played a long game by supporting the Commission and other Member States and who then get their rewards when the big money (in the form of the Common Agricultural Pokicy is dished out).

3. The notion that big business here will strengthen the worker' slot if we were out of the EU is fanciful.

4. I had to laugh at Gove claiming credit for us for the end of slavery. Yes there was William Wilberfirce etc but parts of the country got rich on the back of slavery for a very long time.

5. Not in Gove's statement as it doesn't suit his argument but the existence of the EU (and it's forerunners) has helped to keep peace the peace in Europe for seventy years. The no campaigners say this is all down to NATO but the reality is that the countries we used to fight most with (France, Spain and Germany) are not a threat with us together in re EU (as well as NATO).

6. The Greeks invented democracy
