Would you be happy if the appointed peerages in the House of Lords made the laws in the country that were passed down to the House of Commons to vote on, knowing that the Conservatives held a majority?

The unelected peers in the HoL already have the power to veto laws. Dave has been hammered numerous times.
The EU works the same, the Parliament puts forward the proposals after months of negotiation and the top boys then either see it through or ask the Parliament amend what is needed.

No, it doesn't.

But a person can appeal to the ECJ and many have done because they 'disagreed' with the findings in our own courts.
So again, I ask, is this something you agree with or find abhorrent that the highest authority in the country in regards to statutory law isn't even based in the country?

Nothing inherently abhorrent about that.

Well thats it folks, Remain will win the referendum. Just been to bookies, they're offering Remain 1/10 and Brexit 6/1. They've been taking bets of £10,000 and £20,000 on remain. Disappointed, but hey shit happens. I sincerely hope this will not prove to be an occasion where people like me will be forced to say... "Well I did warn you". Cameron and Osbourne are going to be utterly unbearable.

how do the bookies have any idea who will win ? how do they know the voting intentions of up to 46 million people ? i think its too close to call

These would be the 'top boys' that are appointed, not elected.

I don't quite understand why people would put £20,000 in the hope of getting £2000 back. There must be very rich people with money to burn about. Must be nice for them, eh?
Yeah, I think in gambling speak it's called "Buying Money".

Not likely to be a Brexit victory at those prices.

i once put a grand on Rangers to beat Kilmarnock at home at odds of 1-9. It was a 1-1 draw.

You really need to wait until the hedge funds have their poll results then watch the pound/dollar markets and the ftse100 (down half a percent from this morning) and the ftse 250. That's where you find the big money.
