For Scotland read England for Uk read the EU. You get the arguments and you can see the issue and thinking in others just not yourselves.

When I hear Brexiters I just hear Scottish nationalists , the same logic, same thinking, same optimism, same arguments.its just funny to see people spot all the flaws in their own arguments in someone else's .

Scotland has a population of less than 6 million and they are free to enter England to work or play just as we are free to reciprocate. The massive population of Europe is something to concern us if free movement is to be encouraged because it would increase the strain on our infrastructure which is already at breaking point. So any direct comparison to motives for our independence from Europe and Scottish independence from the UK is hardly appropriate. WE are not threatening the Scottish infrastructure with benefit claimants or overloading their schools, hospitals, roads etc. We also speak the same language so there is no hinderance in schools to indiginous children on either side of the border.

There is also the problem of religious extremism coming from the continent that we do not experience from Scots and they don't experience it from us. We are hardly in danger from our near neighbours unless they get radical and start acts of terrorism which is pushing the envelope beyond credibilty. So no I don't recognise any hypocrisy in the Brexit argument.

Its really quite simple...vote to stay and you are voting for the end of Great Britain being a free and independent country, infact voting for Great Britain to be anything more than a greater european region, and probably one that will be seen as a dumping ground for the mainland of Europe.

The difference is that an independent Scotland would be almost instantly bankrupt with the current oil price. Any post brexit doom for the UK is pure speculation, and as we are a net contributor unlikely in the short term. Poor comparison, you usually do better than this.
The whole basis of the stay vote was this the whole basis of the Scottish independence working vote was.

1) they would be able to negotiate a favourable deal with a larger partner and that this would work for Scotland.
2) that the UK needed Scotland to be successful and therefore the English would act in Scotland's interest
3 ) that economic advice and external sensible opinion could be ignored as keeping the UK together was in their vested interest and it was an unknown anyway.

The delusion that everything would go in their favour and that all bodies abiding against it could be ignored and that smaller is better are identiacal to brexit .

With a 1.6 trillion deficit the Uk can't afford too much of an economic screw up as it is!

SNP and brexit politics and argument is nearly identical

Religious extremism coming from the continent - our own extremists brought just about the most important city In the world to a standstill over a decade earlier and we played more of a part than anyone in creating it

I don't get this argument that the migration from mainland Europe to the UK has put a massive strain on the system. Without it we will have failed to fill many skilled positions in the NHS.

As for the so called benefit claimants, I think this is a myth. 99% of those coming here from Europe are here to work, and many of them work very hard. All those unskilled, low paid jobs our own unemployed can't be bothered to fill are helping British businesses and contributing tax where there wouldn't otherwise be.

That's really quite insulting, immature and baseless EB2, seriously I expect better from someone whose seen the light and left this country. Very disappointed.

I don't think it is I never looked down on Scottish nationalists, I thought they were wrong but thu believed passionately in their country and we're just deeply optimistic about it. So I stand by pointing out the immense similarities between brexit and. scoxit but don't be insulted as I don't see being linked to the SNP as an insult at all.

I also didn't leave the country because of any negative about the UK I left because of a lifestyle I liked a lot and a girl Ioved so don't take that as any judgement on the UK

Most Brexiters are single issue too. When one thing is the answer to everything it's like some kind of political heroin addiction

It is the first step and not the answer to everything. For anyone who is sick of the establishment and wants real change you cannot vote in and be anything other than a coward. We need to rid ourselves of the Eu and then concentrate on getting rid of the tories and labour. It may be a hopeless cause but it shouldn't stop one trying

You mean we're not all going to be wearing bin bags and eating woodshavings if we vote to leave? I'm gobsmacked at this revelation. ;)

Lets just put this into practical terms if Brexit does happen then we lose our biggest trading partner, so its not going to be watching cricket on the lawn whilst taking afternoon tea.

I hear this argument a lot and can't believe people are still using it. It can never be discussed rationally as question time on Thursday showed
