European away games ticketing policy

But they will still require proof of travel and hotel. Just buying a ticket via enough loyalty points is no longer emough. We must prove we are also going. Taking a passport down, and or having your number stamped on the ticket isn't enough.

I think City need to look at giving tickets out at the Airport Arrivals terminal when City play in Europe. That way flight times, fans arriving, and queues will be staggered. And once you get your ticket and wristband, if the club carry on with it, then it's all done and dusted, and everyone can enjoy their trip. Obviously UK based CL ties are a different matter and need to be looked at differently.
As someone who works in the Airport industry no way will any airport allow this procedure to take place due to the heavy security that is in place now at all airports.

Same situation as me pal along with a few others on this thread.
I class 12000 points as a decent total which now gives me the chance to purchase on my own criteria.
So you have 12000 points
I have 17000 points
That means I've been to approximately 125 away games worth more than you at 40 points per game.
I never miss a European away game. But for the last five games I've had to traipse across unknown cities in my time and at my expense. In Monchengladbach I'm going to have to pay for a return rail ticket for about £40 because I won't have my ticket for the game.
All so that you can get a ticket?

That seems reasonable doesn't it? My money and my time for you to have a ticket for the game you fancy going to?

You're taking the piss pal!
I don't get tickets for pals or pass them on, I go to games to watch City at considerable expense and with alot of commitment.
I'm all for getting rid of those stopping you going, but it shouldn't be at my expense or inconvenience, perhaps it should just be at yours and those on similar points.

I was at Madrid, wasted half a day travelling across town and back again to get my ticket. The Rioja had kicked in by the time I got to the ground, so it's all s little blurry, I do remember at least 3 checkpoints though, so not sure why it's not possible

Well if you remember the pens that we were in were not single file they were like a Mosh Pit, with the people at the back being shoved
in by the C***'s in uniform and the one's at the front being pushed back with batons because of the pressure on from behind.

Gladbach is going to be farce, no one stays there it's like Stoke.
Most are staying Dusseldorf or Cologne and as you point out it is going to cost us to travel to pick up the bloody ticket.

I'm staying in Dortmund and going in on the day of the game, leaving the day after. I'm now going to have to buy a return rail ticket.

Your match ticket wouldn't cover travel the day after the game anyway,I'm staying in dusseldorf,so will have to buy a single rail ticket,as my match ticket will cover the return

But by the same token, (not saying this is you btw). What about the guy on 1000 points who gets to go to Barca while his mate on 17k who isn't going gets him a ticket, multiplied by many more, meaning the fella with 12k never gets one because there are loads there with no where near as many points. Look at the first Camp Nou game for example.

The system is sound, it just needs implementing better.

Right I get you
So a problem I haven't caused I should rectify for the odd punter who fancies a game by giving up my time and my money.
I think its really good that there are people like you and the other poster who see that its only right that I should be the one to pay with time and money at every single euro away whilst they don't.

I'm not saying you have caused it, in fact that was in the first line, but be it UEFA's reasons, or City's, lets face it who knows, this is now the situation. If there were far more ticket staff there, in a good location, meaning it took let's say 15 mins max, and didn't cost you to get there, I think most wouldn't mind.

The fact that tickets are going down so low now though (again, not aimed at you!) shows how it was was being exploited, that could be the reason for this system, or not, but for some, it's a beneficial after effect.

No one else can use your ticket as it would have your supporter no. or your passport number on the ticket, and you would need to show ticket, passport and season card to gain entry, thus the club are doing as UEFA demand that they have the address of every seat holder. I'm not sure what's not to understand about that, why do they need your flight and hotel details. If you are foolish enough to sell your ticket, and someone is foolish enough to buy it they will be unable to get in as they don't have the corresponding passport/ season card !
Supporter no wouldn't work as you can borrow the person who bought it season ticket
