European away games ticketing policy

Not exactly the same procedure but just reading on the kraftwerk thread you are now having to take proof of I'd to get into concerts now.
The rags are now asking 250 fans at each domestic away to prove the ticket match's the buyer by collecting at the away venue.

If true its just state control. Are the turnstile operators being provided with a terrorist watch list to check prior to allowing entry? If not what purpose does it serve?

Reading on the kraftwerk thread £85 tickets are on offer for £660 minutes after going on sale ,look at any after sales ticket site for tomorrow's game for spurs I bet you will find tickets for £300/400 they are coming from somewhere.
It should cut down on touting in theory which should be a good thing but how often have we bought tickets off touts paying over the odds to get in when we stood no chance of getting in otherwise ?

Its a great idea. 90 mins of queuing in the rain. No toilet facilities, not saying i was bursting for a piss but my teeth were drowning. Two blokes behind us in there 70s not given priority to collect. Well done City for a perfectly executed collection process

The thing is touting has been pretty much legalised besides to those at the bottom of the food chain. There is a travel shop on the Picadilly approach (chinese travel agency) who were offering City tickets to every match upto a year or so ago (may still do) at inflated prices as do many other companies. Look at buying spanish football tickets online as an example.

Yes we have all relied on touts over the years and the help of fellow blues who have a spare (I did for Southampton, Bournemouth away last year and Swansea last week) some of the plums supporting City's policy seem happy this avenue of tickets will be taken away.

I didn't go to celtic but I do euro aways and am going gladbach . I'm disabled and no way can stand for than length of time so if that's the case how am I supposed to collect my tickets ??

I doubt its got anything to do with cutting out touting given city are happy to tout our tickets via their ticket exchange giving the poor ticket seller a £17 credit next season (based on a £299 seasoncard) whilst they sell his Ticket on for £46

Quite simply ask them when you arrive or write to lisa Eaton providing proof of disability and hope they use common sense....wouldn't bank on it though

Something I will be doing if I get tickets for future games . The clubs reply will be interesting.

This might well be a possible answer. A random selection of people (25%?) will have to pick up their tickets but you won't know which ones until after you've purchased them.

And after you have made your travel arrangements, booked your hotel, chosen town to stay in??

If the club have to insist on this ridiculous system of checking tickets they should stamp the ticket with your season card number and then check your ticket matches your seasoncard at arrival at the turnstiles. To check a number should take a matter of seconds.

Admittedly a mate would be prepared to let his mate use his season card also but a points whore who sells his ticket on facebook is unlikely to give his season card away also. I am not saying this is an ideal situation, because I dont believe any systems acceptable but it would be a lot less troublesome than the system in place.
