European away games ticketing policy

You are correct on one point that I did not go on Wednesday due to my points not being sufficient to buy.
However, This new system has allowed me to purchase tickets on my own criteria for games in Paris & Madrid.
If it means a 20 minute wait in the Pull man hotel or a shopping centre then that's fine by me.

Now can you now see why I'm all for it ?? It bring people like me on 12000 points into the frame for these games.

I could join a supporters club and try and jump the que that way but I'm very much against that way of getting tickets for matches.

So cut out your petty responses about telling me about being selfish as it makes you look stupid.

I'm in same boat as you. 12500 points yet I hear or see time and time again fans with far less points than me attending fixtures that I've either not qualified for or have had difficulty qualifying for. I therefore also don't mind having to collect my ticket.

Whose safety exactly? It's early September and we're playing away in Spain or Italy. It's warm, no need for a jacket so you're wandering around with a sky blue wristband attached to you. May as well have a fucking flashing light attached to your head with CITY FAN written on it.
The club lie to us and treat us like idiots. Like others have said, I won't accept these new measures so it's no more Euro aways for me either.

Am I missing something here? The majority walk about the cities with the club shirt on anyway. It's generally fairly obvious who's a city fan when travelling away domestically or abroad. Only in maybe Naples or Moscow did I witness the majority not wearing anything too obvious.

Joke of a reply.

I think that is exactly why he has called you selfish. The reasons you have listed for it being a good idea consider no one else but the ways in which it benefits you.

It may benefit you but the reality is blokes approaching 70 are having to queue for two hours in poor weather and the whole fanbase are being inconvenienced, and facing additional expense. You may consider it a good idea because of the benefitys to you but others its a draconian rule and shows contempt for the supporters.
Exactly
I empathise with everyone who loses out on tickets, but making the whole fan base jump through ridiculous hoops to get tickets is not the answer

Its a great idea. 90 mins of queuing in the rain. No toilet facilities, not saying i was bursting for a piss but my teeth were drowning. Two blokes behind us in there 70s not given priority to collect. Well done City for a perfectly executed collection process

There are clearly things that the club have to learn. No facilities is a joke and there are obvious concerns with regard the disabled or older supporters.

I imagine future collections will run more smoothly. This is a new system and time might be needed to make it as smooth as they can.

I didn't go to celtic but I do euro aways and am going gladbach . I'm disabled and no way can stand for than length of time so if that's the case how am I supposed to collect my tickets ??

This is a red herring mate. People with disabilities go straight to the front of the queue. There tends to be an awful lot of carers (queue jumpers) with these Blues too lol!

There's only one person here looking stupid having read the replies to your post from others.

You've confirmed yourself to be both selfish and a hypocrite, well done you.

Here's an idea.

If you can prove you've booked your flight and hotel room before you collect your ticket at the ticket office after apply and buying it, there is absolutely no reason for the club not to give you your ticket then.

Most people will have booked a flight and hotel by the time tickets are released.

This will be perfect for MGB, as most people will be flying to Dusseldorf

Why do people have to go levels where they're calling blues they've never met stupid, selfish or bores etc?

The reasons the club have brought this collection process are to with safety apparently. Whether you agree or not it looks likely that the system is here to stay and may even be introduced for domestic games.

Those (like me) are happy to queue for a ticket to a game that had the system not been introduced, we'd have had no chance of a ticket due to a lot of supporters ahead of the queue buying them and passing them on.

The system reduces that impact on the ticket allocation and it's a huge benefit to us on less than 14000 points.

Even if you hate it and see it as being treated like crap it wasn't the blues who might benefit from it that introduced it so I don't get the slagging off.

Not exactly the same procedure but just reading on the kraftwerk thread you are now having to take proof of I'd to get into concerts now.
The rags are now asking 250 fans at each domestic away to prove the ticket match's the buyer by collecting at the away venue.

The difference being, the Rags/MIBS have a reputation of being idiots at away games. I'm sure United are doing this to keep their young and giddy traveling support in check.

Our away support is a lot more mature and older.
