Think about it.

Playing Inter or Milan with a half empty away end, with a half full stadium. Or playing Barcelona with a stafium full of tourists and getting thumped.

If this super league happens, and City are in it, and have now become part of the cartel and what we've always hated about the Rags, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc, I'm out of this competition. I'll stick to PL matches.

Regardless, City have become what we've always hated, and have got into bed with the same clubs, and the likes of Gill, who tried their hardest to hold our club back.

That would be me done, I've been watching City for 48 years and have supported them all my life, but this is not for me.

We can't afford to think like that though. For one, city have been invited - there are pictures proving Soriano was at the meeting - and you can bet that he will not turn the invitation down. As said above, though, the problem is that this competition would not be a failure, and we certainly can't approach this assuming it would. Sure, it might post the loess attendance figures of any competition we're in but you can be sure that there are enough plastics around the UK and worldwide who would lap this up that they would more than justify their involvement with the sheer financials - and since it wouldn't be UEFA organised then they would likely distribute TV rights to multiple companies in each country, so the TV press would absolutely be all over it too.

If it goes ahead we'll be on it, doesn't make it right. If it goes ahead, it won't last long, decade (much too long anyway) tops.

CL isn't perfect but it's a million times better than this suggestion. Based on merit for a start, the invite only format only brings "big names" to a glorified pre season friendly tourney.

exactly the same thing happened to Welsh club rugby 10 years ago to keep the traditionally big names in Europe.

those brands are still there but they're pretty shit and have less of a following than they did when it was just clubs. The rest of the club game has pretty much died off as a consequence of the top rung not being the top.

although it's because of my club being turned into a feeder club when we were very successful in the late 90s that I became such an ardent City fan.

I just wish that if this happens I can easily quit any football whatsoever, but I'm afraid I'm an addict already. :)

An euro super league would be utterly disgusting, any justification of such an idea is non-existent.

I think their trying to make pre season games more competitive, all big clubs travel so bring all games under one umbrella makes the games more interesting rather than used as kick about to generate money

Totally opposed to an Invitation Only league. Part of the be romance of football is that any team can rise from the he bottom to the top.

It's a threat to uefa to provide more beneficial terms , perhaps 5 or 6 pl places instead of 3 or 4

I guess it would be interesting if uefa called their bluff
