Everton (A) | Game Postponed

Everton are another jealous club of our success.

Join the queue mersey scum. Meanwhile we can enjoy your misery and count the trophies.

Thank you Sheikh Mansour on behalf of all the blue camel jockies....asswipes.

You say Everton havent done themselves any favours. But I don't agree, I haven't seen any fall out in the press/media about their statement. Haven't seen one story slagging Everton off for not caring about the welfare of the City staff or players. I havent seen one story slagging of Everton for implying that City lied about the covid outbreak.
I think Everton fc knew actually what they were doing, the only people upset about their statement seems to be us fans !.
The press/media have completely ignored their lack of humanity.

Yes I agree that statement didnt do them any favours amongst City fans but has they been a big outcry about it within the football community that Everton first reaction was to 'accuse' City of lying to the premier league and bending the rules ?.
Every other club were the opponents have had to postpone have wish the other teams players and staff well. That it seems was to much to ask from Everton.

There something about the city of liverpool were they always feel hard done by and it's not a nice trait. That city has one hell of a chip on its shoulder. Like I have said before my missus wanted to visit the Beatles stuff, but after the coach welcome, than LFC breaking covid19 guidelines to attack the liver building etc she changed her mind. She read the Everton statement and just said " what's wrong with them glad we didnt go and visit the Beatle stuff". I well never set foot in liverpool. Sorry mum ! My mum never admit being born there always said she was a manc and spoke with a manc accent lucky for her she move by the age of one ! ;)

I know its abit childish to ignore a city due to its football teams but even the scousers that arent into football that I meant just seem to also have this huge chip on there shoulder always moaning about something lol
You're right there Gordon , i was speaking from a personal point of view regarding favours etc. I was slow to come round to the biased agenda thinking in the media , football hierarchy and other clubs but i'm firmly of that opinion now.Used to like Liverpool under Shankley and Paisley but that admiration has long gone

Curious what is thought of Marcotti's comments here:

He does not say City were wrong or necessarily should be under suspicion, safety is paramount, and points out how the postponement does not benefit City because of fixture congestion over the season (Julien Laurens notes how our schedule is "impossible" as of now if we go to the end of every competition we're in).

However, Marcotti also says Everton and Spurs are right to be upset at the situation (even praising Everton for their statement) and should want answers from the PL for lack of transparency under the guise of privacy.

I think his issue is with the PL and that he feels they have muffed this all, subtly seeming to hint that it's causing a lot of controversy (as we are all feeling) which could have been avoided with better planning and at least an explanation.

He notes how there could have been a statement stating the names of the medical professions who declared the situation too dangerous.

Now, our problem and one that David David Mooney pointed out that the time frame should show how this was unrealistic anyway, so why are Everton going this far:

What's implied by their statement is what is causing to feel like fuel to the fire to the parade of support from many who already hate City as always under suspicion, being "cheats," "immoral," etc.

I know a few decent Evertonians and one of them was best man at my wedding. Known him 35 years - there isn't an ounce of racism in him.

However, the racism amongst too many scousers, I'm afraid, isn't that far from the surface. The fact that racism goes unchecked on that forum is another example.
I see you’ve been canned from GOT now

People up Everton’s arse quickly forgot how venomous they were towards us when the takeover happened, especially when they were managed by Moyes and we took Lescott off them. They only started cooling down towards us when we were beating Liverpool to trophies.
Hughes didn't help much. When they turned down our approach their chairman was away. Hughes said " we can wait till the person who really makes the decisions comes back". Moyes apoplectic.

Me too. Well said. I have no problem saying that I've had no problem with most Everton fans I've come across. As for those particular posts by those particular posters, they're deplorable, but you know what? I don't know a single forum that doesn't have posters capable of posting stuff like that. Including here. They should have been deleted by the mods, who didn't do their job. That's all.
As for the official statement by Everton F.C., it was stupid, and unnecessary. I rather doubt that it was imposed on the hierarchy by the fans.

Those mods on their forum still aren't doing their job.

I got banned soon after I called out their racism (I'd previously reported it to the mods who did nowt) and told them that nothing has changed since their days of chanting "Everton are white". What a backward bunch of hicks.

A good man at a **** of a club.
Absolutely. They have demonstrated a paranoid sense of victim hood, alleging cheating and conspiracies, that would have done the other rabble across Stanley Park proud. I am glad Ancelotti has broken ranks and wished us well, always liked him, but I suspect he is currently wondering just what sort of twats he is working for.

Bill Kenwright and Farhad Moshiri. I mean, Kenwright praised Alfie Evans' dad as a super fan even though the guy was a criminal and encouraged people to harass staff at Alder Hey. And employing that abusive scumbag Franny Jeffers is not a good look.

I'm glad Carlo said that. I doubt he had anything to do with the original statement, it was probably Kenwright/Moshiri behind that. I remember in spring last year he was talking about how bad the crisis in Italy was and how he hoped the UK wouldn't end up like that.

It's a shame Everton put out that initial statement. They could have easily kept their misgivings to themselves, and it has reflected badly on them as a club. Hopefully, they will learn a lesson from it.

Spurs probably saw the reaction, and their statement reflected this. (This isn't to say Spurs would have acted differently had they not had the benefit of commenting after seeing the Everton reaction).

In my view, Everton FC made a misjudgement. Ancelotti to his credit has gone some way to making amends. But let's not judge the entire Everton club or fanbase as evil, on the back of one error of judgement.
