Everton (A) | Game Postponed

It's a shame Everton put out that initial statement. They could have easily kept their misgivings to themselves, and it has reflected badly on them as a club. Hopefully, they will learn a lesson from it.

Spurs probably saw the reaction, and their statement reflected this. (This isn't to say Spurs would have acted differently had they not had the benefit of commenting after seeing the Everton reaction).

In my view, Everton FC made a misjudgement. Ancelotti to his credit has gone some way to making amends. But let's not judge the entire Everton club or fanbase as evil, on the back of one error of judgement.

You say spurs "probably saw the reaction"
I dont read the press/media what reaction was there in the press/media ? I havent any links on here about the press/media having a dig at Everton .

Everton knew what they were doing by the wording of that statement hence why we now have stories of a players party. Everton were implying City werent telling the truth and fanned the flames.

Did read on SKY that an Everton spokes person had demanded `full disclosure` made me laugh, how stupid can you get, ones medical records are highly sensitive and the FA handing them over to Everton could leave them with a big lawsuit, but i could not understand why Everton did not trust the FA`s decision

The daft thing here is that ... gven they had their best 3 players out for this game, and were talking about resting one or two others because they were shattered / too tired ... Everton must be secretly pleased it was called off ? We were 1/5 on to win and we'd almost certainly have done so.

Faux outrage. Scouse twats.

Not sure we were that short but we were big odds on favourites - around 1/2 I think

One thing has been flushed out in all this is Everton FC, their lack of decency and humanity (Ancelotti apart and it took him 4 days) and the fact that they have a racism problem - bigger than most clubs.

While I know a few decent Evertonians, and one is a close, long standing friend, I'm afraid their club is still riddled with racist scum and their club are beyond the pale for its behaviour this week. They knew exactly what they were doing and sought to profit points wise from Covid.

Everton put that statement out for a reason, to put pressure on the Premier league to award points as we did have enough players to play and they had several players missing. Probably best chance of them to beat us.
Don't reckon there was ever any chance of the points being awarded but there was definitely an agenda..

Pep Responds

Guardiola and Ancelotti - 2 classy managers and winners who understand what is happening in the world and football`s place in it though Carlo was slow to do what his club would not do - to send best wishes to City. Whilst Maurinho once again displayed his self interest and lack of awareness along with EFC`s badly judged and ill considered public statement at a time when much better is expected and necessary.

The Premier League ruling body decided for health and safety reasons, following medical advice, to postpone the match which benefited Everton more due to a number of injuries they had to key players. EFC`s pretense of not understanding why the match was postponed at a time of national crisis was disingenuous and, in this instance, reflected badly on the club.

Pep`s response today was not only humane and fitting of his status at the very top of football but reminded everyone that City are always ready and willing to play anyone - “It is what it is. When you are able to win a lot of titles, especially four titles in one season, you play a lot of games and this will not be an exception right now,” he said.

Happy Blue Year.

So Pep personally rang Ancelloti before the game and informed him of the situation and Neverton still produce that statement , it sounds Pep was acting like a friend , Ancelloti is 61 years old and certainly more at risk than his staff and players. Cant understand what Neverton were trying to achieve , perhaps they want to get onside with the hateful eight , well congratualtions you scouse losers , its now the nasty nine.
