Everton (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Got to love the media’s pathetic attempts to talk up Goodson, probably a great ground in its day, but it’s 40 or so years out of date; a crumbling wooden structure that’s well passed its sell by date. The Goodson myth is right up there with the Anfield one.
whats the common denominator here, oh yeah its the scousers being talked up by a friendly media into being something it isnt, the examples of it are many the best one being that their fans are loud and passionate when the reality is that their fans are out of control thugs.

Indeed. Tee idiots in the RDAHMeedya have not attempted to watch a match from the Upper Bullens where yer can't see the other touchline and dugouts, and they won't have been charged £500+ for a seat in the Gwladys where, immediately in front of your seat, is a fuckin' great pillar!

Is it me, or is Dyche a thoroughly vile, moaning, arsehole. He can never ever accept defeat, nothing is ever on him, he’s always blaming someone, he’s an embarrassment to football.
That sums him up perfectly.

I personally know an Everton seaon ticket holder who sits in the upper tier next to the away fans.

He says when Everton score and the fans celebrate the stand shakes worryingly, it is long overdue for demolition.

When we failed to score from a very good chance in the first half, I dreaded the worst, & when Everton scored, I thought we were going to struggle, & the team’s exploits at the Club World Cup catch up with them.
With Haaland, KDB, & Doku out, City have lacked that clinical edge to take chances & kill games off of late, but the team dug in, players stepped up, & Foden’s stunning equaliser was well deserved for the increased intensity in the 2nd half. Some Pundits have said City were gifted opportunities from Everton’s mistakes, failing to see that City’s pressure creates those mistakes, Pickford always has a mistake or 2 in him, his distribution isn’t the best at times, especially under pressure, so I’m sure he was targeted.
Everton we’re actually the form team coming into this fixture, at home, still fired up by the 20 points deduction, against a much travelled & weakened City team, on a poor run of form, so that is an excellent result that keeps City well in touch the leaders.
With the talk of Brailsford & marginal gains at Utd, if you’re going to equate City with anyone, it’s Mark Cavendish, tucked in behind the leaders ready, coiled & ready to pounce.
Isn't that what happens in every football match.? Goals come from defensive errors.

Probably a little late with my match thoughts but here we are! Tough place to go that and we controlled the game, really have to cut these silly mistakes out. Standouts for me obviously Foden MOTM. Special mention to Gvardiol who came on at a tough time, looked steady and composed. Ake superb never lets us down. Also thought the sub of Kovacic gave us so much more control he’s a lot better than what people give him credit for. Only negative is the stones injury looked a bad one and totally accidental. Anyway KDB, Haaland, Dias and Doku back soon? 3 points off the top not bad for a crisis club with 2 league wins in 7!
