Everton (a) post-match thread

Well, in all honesty, it's the very first time in football history that a controversial decision has had a potential impact on a result. I can't think of City ever being on the wrong end of a bad decision in all the years I've supported them.
Notice that they never demanded an apology for the given offside when Pickford ended Van Dick's season .Apparently these things do even themselves out over a period of time :) :)

Evertons complaint is pathetic. It was a wrong decision. Get over it.

Wrong decision for who? Not us lol. It was one of those tight calls where it couldn't be proven conclusively it was handball by today's letter of the law. On that basis it can't be given.

I thought it was his chest at the time but looks like it his his upper arm now to me but it wasn't clear cut at the time.

It looked like a penalty, I was very relieved when VAR decided it was no penalty and I think Everton were very hard done by but the reaction that this is some unique act of injustice is what I cannot accept. Nor can I accept that he eal victims are from the other side of Merseyside. This was simply the latest in a long line of poor decisions, many of which have been at City's expense and some of which have benefitted Liverpool. VAR has operated badly since its introduction, was operated badly this last weekend and may well continue to operate badly.

I still haven't recovered from Llorente handball for Tottenham that cost us the semi final place in the Chumps League.

They've got form. When our game was called off last season because of covid cases in the City squad they were really shitty about that as well. Ancelotti was the only one with enough class to send good wishes to the people who tested positive.

It’s a blatant handball.

I'm not getting into a pantomime, "Oh no it isn't/oh yes it is!" with you but it's not blatant due to the added confusion on the new shirtline rule. Due to that rule var and the ref ruled it wasn't conclusive. Was I relieved? Yes. Would I be pissed off if I was Everton? Yes. It wasn't given, we had no say in the decision, end of story. We've been on the end of some ourselves and some have gone our way, Saturday was the latter. That still doesn't make it a blatant handball.

Demand an apology? FFS, candle shortage on the red side of Merseyside and a fanny wipe shortage on the blue side.

Whilst I agree that we should be better informed by the officials, FA and VAR on decision taking and reasoning, demanding apologies for decisions perceived to be incorrect is just pointless, unsportsmanlike and, in light of what is going on in the bigger world, petulant.
