Everton (a) post-match thread

According to the latest news I've read, there was no offside before the penalty the VAR just thought it was inconclusive, so we completely got lucky there because that was a penalty. If we keep playing like have been this game and the last we won't win the league.
Wrong...they didn't check for offside because they ruled no handball...had the handball been given the replay with the lines would shown a clear offside...same result...no penalty...

Why he persists with Sterling is beyond me. Has he ever retained possession?
Careful…you almost said he had poor touch and lacking technical ability!

@kaz7 will be ‘avin ya if you say that!

That said, he was not alone today.

High levels of frustration with multiple players and no-one covered themselves in glory today, with the exception of Ederson & Stones.

It was a stonewall penalty that should have been given. If Liverpool had gotten away with it we'd all be apoplectic.

It's fine to just say we got away with it. We don't need to bend over backwards or find some previously unseen camera angle that apparently "proves" Rodri didn't do anything wrong, or that Richarlison was offside in the build-up.

We benefited from a lucky bounce for the goal and then benefited from a bizarre VAR cock-up for the non-penalty. It's a bad decision, neutrals will see it as a bad decision. No conspiracy, nothing underhanded, doesn't change the result.

The play was stopped for offside after the incident. The referee is just pointing out that it's to resume from the offside decision, just like he would point for a goal kick etc.
Regardless...offside before and after...better yet..the fucking ball popped up to Rodri because an OFFSIDE Richarlison kicked it into Ederson...watch the whole play...it would have been a travesty to award Everton a penalty off an offside run...
