Everton and David Moyes (merged)

Re: David Moyes

I must admit that I do look forward to the ceremonial "Europe in review - full footage of every match" Everton brings out each year on floppy disc.

Seriously?

You guys must be delusional if you honestly believe that.

Leave a club that's qualified for europe 4 out the last 5 years for a club that hasnt seen europe in what? 30 years (I dont know).

There is one reason and one reason only that Lescott wanted away, money, pure and simple. What's he on? 90k pw. Pretty much double what we were paying him. I'd move for that and so would you.

The true test would have been if Chelsea or Man U were willing to match the terms you offered. Where do you think he would have gone then?

We were in Euopre last season????

Fair enough.

Answer the rest.

ok, i'm wrong, you must be right. BWahahahahahahaha it was no secret lescott wanted away, you just can't except, that we are a much more attractive destination than goodison nowadays.

hang on a min, rose tinted specs are an issue in your logic. You never once qualified for the CL. You got knocked out in the qualifying round and ended up in the Uefa cup.

So then lets get on to the Uefa cup well we have been in it twice in recent years. and might i add got further than you in the competition.

But just to add another little bit to the convo, when Lescott said he wanted to leave. And every player has the right to do thatm, why would the selling clubs manager blame his player for the teams poor result against Arsenal, and blame us because an Everton player thought we where a better option. Now i know your going to point out that if we dont get fourth this season Bal blah blah..

but this is only the start for us, we are a club with a very bright future and the owners to back it up.

Everton a club who hasnt got a clue where the next transfer fund is comming from, where they will be playing their football in ten years time. a decrepid stadium and a chairman who has openly said he can not compete with the top clubs anymore.

i know where i would want to play my football.

Exactly, I openly admit the management at our club has a small time mentality.

Re: David Moyes

It doesn't really matter what Everton or City have done the past five years, Lescott will be looking at the next 5 years. Do you honestly think Everton have better prospects than City over the next 5 years?

As for the choice of Chelsea, United or City it would depend if he thought he could get a game week in, week out. If not I think he still would have chosen City.

If Everton matched our wages I'd say he still would have moved unless those wages were matched by the ambition to move forward as a club to the same extent as City.

I think Lescott left, because he could see where the club wanted to go. Yes, he earned more money, but the clubs who are really looking to push on quickly (Chelsea were the same), will always have to pay more for transfers and wages at the early stage of things...

I think Moyes has done a great job, with limited resources, but he's taken Everton as far as is possible and i think Lescott thought the same... If we finish 4th this year or next, he'll have been proved right to move.. Im not havin a go at Everton, we were in a similar position with SWP, and it hurt at the time but with the big 4 and City, Villa and Spuds, I fear the toffees will struggle to keep up with the lack or resources they have over other clubs...

Re: David Moyes

And as we speak Moyes is still moaning about City !!!
He claims that City upset the start to their season !!
If Moyes wasn,t so far up his own arse and sold JL sooner, then Everton would have had the cash in the Bank earlier, giving him time to rebuild.
Complete knob and Moyes is going to regret his comments about the Sky Blues. If he aint had much flack outside of Goodison,he will tomorrow and he wont know what the shits hit him !!!!!!!!!

Yes, you clearly don't!

Go on then put me right.

And while youre there answer the rest of my post (honestly).

We've been in Europe twice since we last got back into the Premier League and reached the quarter finals on the last occasion.

Did Lescott come to us purely for the money? No. I think anyone with half a brain can see clearly where this club is heading and it's above Everton's level. Not your fault. City won the lottery but that's the reality of it. If you haven't recognised the scope of the ambition of Sheikh Mansour, you be needing a redpill.

Would he have come if the rags (the Trafford-based Manchester wannabes) offered the same terms? No. Chelsea? No.

Im in charge at this club and i say who will be sold, Lesscott will not be leaving in the near future.

remember those words
Moyes is full of it, and it has cost you a good finish this season. Everton could have had money to spend with weekd to spare if it wasnt for his personal issues. Those players who turned your season around in Jan would have been welcome in August
