Everton (H) - Post-Match Thread

Great to be in the ground today to witness a breakthrough day for our Academy graduates and starlets. For many years, we failed miserable to develop a number 10 style of player through the Academy and now we have 3 of them and all local lads. Maybe, Macatee will move on but hopefully he will do the business in the meantime.
I reckon all three could fill in a left back as well

Mcatee is nowhere near Palmer regarding his role in the team, he tries too many fancy stuff for pep to trust him in the teams. he needs to learn to play for the team before he becomes a mainstay.

When you watch him in the youth team he loves running with the ball dribbling past players! In this pep team he has to learn when to run when to pass and move receive the ball! Pep will teach him all this.

Despite the miss I thought Sterling played well and took his goal superbly. I definitely prefer him on the right.
Everton performance reminded me of Newcastle under Benitez - backs to the wall no risk football.

Did anyone have problems with the picture on Sky going darker in parts of the game? I didn’t notice this with the Spurs game.
Darker, and stopped a few times!

Did what we needed to do. Had the feel of a Southampton type performance at times in that first half but when we went ahead it was cruise control.

Nice to see Sterling looking much sharper than he has done for a while. He’s due a run of form!

Wednesday and Sunday will surely provide sterner tests than Everton did today, they were flatter than a witches tits. If they don’t get Calvert Lewin back soon they’ll get dragged into the shit at the bottom of the table

Great to see Palmer get a start and McAtee looked very confident when he came on. I’d like to see him more in the side so we can see just how good he is.

Foden didn’t look right at all from the off. Hopefully whatever the knock he was carrying will be fine by Wednesday.
We didn't give the ball away like we constantly did v Southampton

An easier game than i thought....what has happened to Everton...I know they have a few injuries but they had zero passion and none of the aggressiveness you usually get from them

We completely outplayed them and some great performances from Rodri, Silva, Sterling, Walker and Cancello
City happened to Everton.

All about time today & patience

We were playing great football in the 1st 40 minutes & no reason to panic, once we scored it was always going to be enough this Everton team is so bad
How Pickford plays for England never mind starts is a joke hes fucking shite
There best player went off, Gray the only 1 imo who could cause us problems on the counter

Rodri just keeps getting better, the guy is now automatically 1st choice he picks up the ball & looks miles more confident on the ball & knows how to link up & play that short pass he deserved his mom today & what a strike
Sterling great 1st half but average 2nd imo, when he has to think or make decisions he's fucked his goal proved what he should be doing each time just fucking hit the fucker
Cancelo wow what a pass & Berny just give the man a new £300.000 5 year deal he is No 1 in this team right now
So happy for young Cole Palmer he tried to hard at times today but so what he has a bright future at City & do happy for Mcatee for making his debut
Now for PSG & West Ham
