Had a number done on us by an awful everton side, aided by the inept if not compliant ref.

Hardly surprising we couldnt get into our stride second half, way too many unnecessary stoppages.

Big wake up call to the players that we have to beat everyone on the pitch inc officials.

Bad feeling this will be the new blueprint for playing against us.

Be interesting to see how arses game is reffed tonight.

Not remotely close to good enough. This City side, playing like this won’t be winning anything. It’s slow, boring and relies on the opposition making mistakes or tiring.

We create next to nothing. Teams are coming to us, putting everyone behind the ball knowing fine well that we will recycle possession for fun, without actually creating anything. They also know that this defence will give them a chance every single game.

Mahrez and Grealish both good in the 1st half, actually attacking the full back. 2nd half they reverted to type and just kept coming back and passing inside. It’s keeping possession for keeping possession sake. We sign the most prolific goalscorer in world football and give him wide men who don’t beat full backs and get the ball in.

Our defence is fucking woeful by the way. All fine on the ball when under no pressure. Happy to pass it left, right, left, right. As soon as any defending is required it all goes to shit. Gray had 5 city players around him and yet had time to fall on his arse and still get a shot off.

Shit teams are coming to the Etihad and we are playing right into their hands. This isn’t a one-off poor result. The games at home are following a worrying pattern and Pep isn’t changing anything.

There was a noticeable lack of pace in the team today. Wings, fullbacks, mids, everywhere.

Feel that's where we will miss out on the big ones this year. We obviously have a great time, however ever other top side has pace mixed in with the ability. Only Haaland and Walker have it in our side.

He's obviously not good enough to crack the starting XI so why waste him? Pep seems to value slamming shots into opponents shins and ushering the ball out for goal kicks rather than beating a man, creating chances or actually scoring. Foden's insistence of getting in behind defenders doesn't seem to be what he wants in a winger. I'm thinking sell Foden and bring Navas back.

Stones and LaPorte/Dias the rest of the way. Akanji is a great depth piece but he should never be an every game starter at this level. Not even a slight against him, just the truth of who he is as a player.

We were very poor and got what we deserved really. Our passing was slow and predictable and too many players just not at it. Missed a real spark anywhere on the pitch and never really troubled Pickford for the whole 90 minutes.
