Also at the time Everton were a massive club so we didn't have to pay £200,000 wages to get players to join us.

Obviously a numpty who believes made up stories.

So John Moores, born Eccles, Salford whose first coupons were distributed outside Old Trafford, (despite his office being in L/pool) and who invested in, and sat on the board of Liverpool FC was a lifelong Everton fan........... yeah right.

Nail on the head.

Owners close to home rule with their hearts rather than their heads..

Not good in business tbh..

Oh yeah....football is a business.

What kind of money was Lineker, Cottee, Andy Gray on whilst they were wearing royal blue, compared to the average paid across the division. I suspect that the transfer fees and the salaries excluded 95% of the rest of the teams from even considering making an offer to their clubs.

show me a single post of mine where i bleat about any of those things in fairness.i come on to have a balanced debate about a thread on my club or city. the internet breeds hate and anger, most do not go the game.i have watched everton for 40 plus years, i know where the blame lies re our club, most blues have forgotten the lescott affair, moyes said what he did to deflect blame from him and kenwright. we are in large not deluded as a fanbase, watching everton home and away does many things to the mind, but deluded re our position is not one. yes we would love investment, but in kenwright we have a blatant liar

All true. Kenwright is a prick who will run us into the ground before he eventually leaves which probably won't be untill he dies!

and as for us always throwing history back in peoples faces, is there not a thread on here at moment entitled " if a rag pisses you off throw their history back in their faces" ?????? strange that thought it was only evertonians who did that!!!

I'm merely defending my club.

But in defending yer club you want to deny MCFC what EFC have already had. It's interesting that when we reach a 'boot on the other foot' situation, the various elements are never the same. Somehow, there were 'mystical' and 'spiritual' reasons for other teams' successes. I have watched English football for six decades, and every decade heralds another successful team - 50s Wolves, 60's Spuds, Late 60s MCFC, 70s, 80s Dippers, EFC in their somewhere (they were league Champs when my lad was born - prob that which turned his head!) 90s, Noughties, MANUre, The Arse and CFC. They became top dogs because they had a range of advantages which can all be distilled into one - a financial one. The first reason, despite what players say, even MCFC ones(!) of joining a club is that they are being very well paid and other monies have purchased an infrastructure that provides the best money can buy. They can add in all the other reasons they wish - the history, the trophies and the success they hope to achieve but it's all for the fans, the media. Their agents instill into them an altruistic, charitable mantra. They have come because they are well paid. I could argue that if Torres knew what he knows now he might have had second thoughts, but at the time the transfer fee and the wages put him out of the reach of other clubs. Dipper fans were delighted and would have used the opposite arguments they are using now were anyone to suggest that LFC were acting unfairly and the system was ruining football. MCFC can do that now and all of a sudden it is morally degenerate that such a situation should exist.

Peearse Morgan is blathering on about a salary cap. I bet he would like to fix the cap at 50p beyond the top dollar that The Arse pay. Same with Tottenham, Liverpool, EFC. They want a level playing field but one which delivers to them the 'unique' advantages which they enjoyed in their heydays, whilst at the same time denying the same advantages to other teams. The only adequate word to describe that is hypocrisy.

We like that.
Very well written.

The difference is between City and other clubs is that players move to win things not just for money. City are completely different to other sides like Liverpool, Manchester United, Leeds, Villa, and Spurs. Big clubs like the ones before have history and a history of winning things like it or not. I'm sure City fans would be pretty pissed off if a club similar to your size such as Wolves were bought by a billionaire then start to try and buy all your players. Other clubs have behaved with dignity and the fact you have some of the most dislikeable players known to man doesn't help. Tevez is the most ungrateful footballer that I know already wants to leave City and he's only been there a year. Adebayor was hated by Arsenal fans even when he was excellent for them. Contary to common belief Balotelli wasn't hated because he was black, he's hated for being a total twat, disrespectful, annoying and offensive about other people then expects people to feel sorry for him. I know that most proper City fans I know who were there when you were shite hate whats happening at City now. What pisses me off the most is the fact that the people running your club like Garry Cook are complete and utter knobheads of the highest caliber and treated Mark Hughes disgracefully.
