Everton post-match thread

Sterling and Navas work hard at the back.

Should have gone

Sterling De Bruyne Navas

And dropped yaya.

Haven't got into gear for a long time now.

Players lack spirit , work rate and desire to do the things necessary to get the better or the opposition.

Whatever the reasons it doesn't look look like changing for the better in the short term at least.

As previously mentioned we don't play as a team often enough.

MP certainly is not getting the performances and results we expect but I also think a number of the squad have not only had their best days but need to be replaced.

It looks like you're starting to get the hang of this mate

It took a while to learn the subtle tones of this forum, as you say i think i have a basic if far reaching grasp of the dynamics now.
We win = we are just less than shit if not shit anyway but we scraped it.
Lose = hang Pellegrini sack the Sheikh

I thought maybe the Watford game was a turning point but no that looks like the aberration and this is back to normal. In fact the Watford game was normal for 80 minutes

Annoying thing is we will all be up for the Norwich away game on Saturday but I'll bet you anything the performance will be basically be the same. We always play like we did tonight. We are becoming an average side. Good job we started the season well. Sep, October, November and December have been like a mid table side

Looked quite settled for opening 20minutes and then gradually got worse. The way we try and defend from set pieces invite teams to have a go. No chance of a clean sheet with a keeper who doesn't come off his line even when he's favourite. Just hope Joe stays fully fit as the understudy is just not good enough.

Hope the second leg is an improvement, at least my view will be at the side of the pitch but not behind the goaline like tonight !

Strange game and a lacklustre performance. Everton were certainly deserving of their win (yet again we see them play like their life depends on beating us), BUT we got absolutely shafted by the officials.
Lukaku offside and interfering for their 1st and an absolute nailed on pen not given when Jesus was tripped in the box.
Shame we didn't go for them at the end when they were a man down.
I still reckon we are favourites to go through though, so come on you blues we are still in this.

Its all so lethargic and predictable, it hurts to say im not enyoying watching us at present, quite frankly it looks like we have thrown the towel in and are a Pep in waiting

Well for all the toys being thrown about tonight , and the stamping of feet , the bookies have us 7/4 to get to the final , and the blue dippers 7/2 , strange that , looking at this thread you would think we had no chance at all.

I do think we're still favourites to make the final. Doesn't excuse this (and all the other recent) shit show(s).

Squad is way too good to be this poor. Unfortunately we look like we've got ourselves into the position of having to lump it until Summer.
