Everton Post Match Thread

Kun has been guilty of taking a dive! Are you on drugs you utter tool

+1 bud. It really grates me to hear this shit about 'divers'. Kun is probably the absolute definition of a player who would always rather take a pop at goal than dive. He could easily win us five or six penalties a season if he took the the path of of those with a 'reputation'. Don't ever expect me to laud a player that chooses to go down rather than keep the ball and score. Any supposed City fan that thinks Kun takes the easy way out should hang their head in shame.

Too many of us underestimating Everton on this site.Everton outplayed us at our own ground 1st half and definitely played some lovely passing football.2nd half we got right into them but they sat back and defended magnificently and we never really created any clear chances.it may well have been a penalty but Stirling was going nowhere and if it had been given Stones would have been crucified for a stupid challenge and we would have got a win we didn't really deserve.give some credit to everton.I think they are a good team who should be higher up the league
Assuming you aren't some moronic wum. The reason they aren't higher up the league is because several PL managers are capable of selecting teams and tactics to prevail against Martinez and his cloggers. The reason so many on here are upset (other than the happy-clappies who never seem upset when we drop points) is because we feel we too should be capable of beating Everton as the squad at our manager's disposal is better than most of the squads that managed to beat them.
Unfortunately we've forgotten to buy some match officials, and that could really hit home if the joke decisions continue.

Roger East is by far the worst ref to ever grace the premier league. He's absolutely fucking shit. Bald ****.

Can someone please tell me what Clichy offers the team because I'm struggling. Thanks

What about Richard Madeley, he's a shit **** as well, oh and Jones, he's fucking shocking. In fact when you look at Dean's 'performance' last night and then think he's probably the best, its a fucking shocking state of affairs.

Was a strangely subdued atmosphere tonight, presumably because of the traffic problems that meant the ground was only half full at kick off.

We were very average in the first half, but a lot better in the second half. Should've had a penalty but for a shocking decision.

I'm sure some people who were convinced that we would lose when the line-ups were announced are now furious that we didn't win. Ah well.

The Arsenal result lessened the blow, but if we're being honest we don't look like potential champions at present.

The happy clappers will be on to you because of that! :)

Didn't think we played that badly, they defended well, we were by far the better team in the second half , lpool did us a favour , keep the faith . Ps the ref was a cheating corrupt **** .

Why single out clichy? You tell me 1 city player today who played well? Always people single out certain individuals, de bruyne was wasteful and garbage tonight, but is a very good player, dont see anyone slagging him off, aguero very greedy at times and takes to many touches in the box, it seems certain players are immune to critiscm so everyone looks to others to blame

TBH Ric I'd take 2nd right now.

This is what happens when you go from one end of the scale to the other. I.E Bobby who was abrasive but a fabulous manager up to a point, and someone like Manuel who babysits and gets too close to the team.

I'm assuming this because ATM we have a soft underbelly that hadn't existed until now. We are too easy. Manuels whole demeanour gives the game away. It's great in some aspects but the cold hard fact of it for me, is that his mentality just isn't getting the best from this unbelievably talented squad.

Can't say much about the first half as I missed the first 38 minutes due to the horrendous traffic (Manchester a northern powerhouse ? bollocks...). Played well in the second but couldn't break through. Was unable to see the penalty incident clearly from the South Stand but the vines show it was a stonewaller. Can't believe he didn't give Kelechi a try from the bench (actually I can...he's shit at giving youth a real chance). Two points dropped and an evening to forget for me.

Check the match thread for peoples opinions on De Bruyne mate.

Ha, I hate all this stuff about "happy clappers" and "doom mongerers". Everything has to extreme, we're either shit or brilliant. Tonight we were neither, but it seems like there's never a middle ground.

That was terrible.

Have the players given up on the title? Just 3 points behind but did it look to you like we were fighting for the title? The whole club needs 240 Volts going through it including the fans. Soporific.

No leadership on the pitch. No fight. And has Pellegrini given up as well? Sterling and Navas put some good crosses in but there was no one in the box. No midfield runners.

There was so much wrong with that. And Silva comes on for De Bruyne. Does Pellegrini think they can't play together? I thought the front 3 worked very hard, but they were really isolated and I really don't like to see Sterling out on the left wing. He's a goal threat and should be playing with Aguero. And when Kolarov doesn't play we miss his crosses, however it would have been pointless today, there was no one in the box.

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come, because that looked like a team who can't be bothered and a manager who has run out of ideas. We've had games like that before in and won stuff. I expected Pellegrini to go back to his usual format, but that Norwich win and performance was wasted.
Not the worst result in the world Marvin. Not great a all, but once we've dried out, hopefully we'll assess and move on. Dippers were shit as usual and drew with the Arse. Strange things happen. It's not a meltdown and all is not lost. Try to relax perhaps?

He was quite good in Nosferatu.

I thought we were 'meh' tonight, below average first half, above average second half, although that doesnt go with those who have entrenched views on the manager, which usually brings out the extremist views.

Just not feeling it this season,I'm bored, where is this attacking football? All i see is it going from one side to the other then backwards,it's awful to watch.

Wasn't that the TV presenter with the microcock in the Viz?

IMO nobody looks like champions. At least we are even stevens. Arsenal drew, Spurs (who I think more a threat for the title than Leicester, though I could be wrong) lost. Plus Utd drew -- and Chelsea drew too, and they may not be contenders, but it makes me feel good when neither of those lot win.

This mid-week set of fixtures seemed to play out much as the whole season has -- no one can predict anything and every match is a potential banana skin. I think we can take something away from a decent defense and a pretty good attack in the 2nd half, and some comfort (however little) from the fact that our aggression going forward should have resulted in a pen.

At least I never felt like we were losing that match. That's SOMEthing (however small).

Despite all the pressure , not one ball dropped for us in the penalty area , the the scouse dippers must have used all their luck for the season , with 2 blatant penalty decisions tonight (and the one on Navas last week) and still martinez said they controlled the first half , what drugs are these managers on ? Looking forward to the 2nd leg now , because we know how Everton will play , park the bus , but their luck will not hold out for three games , and it would be nice to get a penalty decision .Just watched the highlights on sky and not one mention of the last minute penalty decision , if that had been the scouse getting a penalty denied in the last minute , there would have been an hour long special.
