Yes, Otamendi did have a few from distance, but that's sort of my point - would rather see more dependable scoring threats taking those chances, but I suppose you take what shots present themselves. Like others have said , the overall shot numbers were fine, just a feeling of one pass too many or a bit too tricky in spots for large parts of the match.
The problem with stats is they don't tell the whole story.
If you look at last season, for example, most games where we lost, our opponents only had one or two chances, but they took them. Is that because they are better at finishing than we are? No. It's because they were clear-cut, wide open, golden opportunities where we were pressing high and got caught out strung all over the place and out of position.
We have tons of "chances" which are in fact half whiffs of a chance, with the opponents packing the area and Messi at his best would do well to score. I am not saying they are ALL like that, clearly there's the odd sitter too. But equally 19 shots on goal and scoring only 1, doesn't tell the whole story.
