Baines and Jagielka are due back. No idea about the others.

"Phil is going to be fully fit very soon and I do expect that he will probably be able to make the squad against Manchester City and that's always been the plan. I do believe that we will be able to reach that."

Feckin' typical! Imagine we had gone up against them without Baines, Jagielka, Distin AND Barry.
There are no givens, as we saw Sunday. Anyway, "make the squad" is not necessarily the same as in the starting lineup.

Jagielka is shite, id rather he was playing. He will probably replace Stones despite that young lad looking like their best centre half.

Imagine if Everton are given a disputable penalty the entire ground boos in protest. :-)

I'm an Evertonian and I think I'll have run on the pitch and kick f**k out of any Everton player who scores a penalty!! Especially if it means us winning the game!!!

Would finishing 5th rather than 6th affect when Everton entered the Europa League? The thought of an extra week lying on a beach before starting pre season training would be plenty of incentive for a pro footballer

So, for any blue scouse on here. Would you rather qualify for the chumps league and pool win the title, or miss out and they miss out too...

Martinez says Jagielka likely to be back, and Distin 50 50

I think match sharpness counts for a lot more defensively. Bringing that many players back in who are just returning from lengthy injuries may see a few errors. Can take a few games for them to settle into their roles and get that understanding back. We saw with Kompany's rushed return that he struggled to our cost. Stones has looked very good and whilst Alcaraz didn't have the best game, if they are to bring Jagielka and or Distin back in then we need to put them under pressure because they will make mistakes. That Stones looks like he can cope with Aguero better than the likes of Jagielka anyway!

Don't care who they play they won't be able to replace Gaz Baz their player of the season. Have faith we will win this one 1-3.

I'm sure it will be a bitter pill to swallow if the blue scouse turn us over knowing that the dippers will probably go on to win the league. I hope this isn't the case and want us firing on all 4's.

Win this, and we have one hand on the trophy.

When CFC and us came unstuck against Sunderland, my renegade Evertonian son texted and railed that we were gifting the title to The Dippers. I suggested that the first instalment of the gift came when EFC shipped in four goals in The Dipper Derby! Now is the time to make a proper gift, suitably wrapped and tied with a sky blue bow!

Behave!!!

We have that wild look in our eyes again and although a traditionally bleak away fixture for us, especially when Gollum had them as bitter as he was it will be a different game at the weekend and I honestly think we will win it comfortably, especially after the Arsenal result last night.

No chance.
Distin will not make it and he won't risk Jagielka as that would be rushing a hamstring which can in the long term ruin a players career. Martinez playing a bit of mind games here. Either way they wouldn't be match fit and look at it another way, remember the paranoia on here about Vinny being fit for the Dippers game and then when he was declared fit we all breathed a sigh of relief and then look what happened.
Chill out take it easy, we've been given a third chance to win this Prem after blowing it twice ( Dippers and Mackems), you don't often get that many breaks in football, let alone life!

Forgive my ignorance, but is Barry ineligible due to an FA rule re loan players, or is it an agreement between the clubs?

I know it won't happen, but if it was the latter the positive press from a magnanimous decision to allow him to play would be unheard of.
Would show our class yet again.

Ineligible due to a Premier league rule, so we won't have the negative press about his possible motivations if we allowed him to play. Pity, GazBaz knows how to score a spectacular OG.

Makes sense or Dunney would have been the best loanee ever .

Imagine how wonderful it would be if we allowed him to play if we could and he scored 3 own goals and gave away 4 penalties. The press and dippers would go into utter meltdown.

We would just sit back and watch carnage unfold like Davey Hogan did in Stand by Me.
