Everton Thread 2019/20

What did they think would happen when they bought players like Michael Keane, Theo Walcott, Iwobi and Pickford? As well as hiring a manger who doesn’t stay anywhere longer than 18 months on average? They also sold Lukaku and replaced him with Rooney!

They’ve bought badly for years and for the life of me could not see why people were talking about them in the summer as a potential top 6 team.

In short, the players are shit and the manager isn’t a real manager. He’s living off short term impacts at clubs
Selling Idrissa Gueye massively bit us in the arse and so did not finding a replacement. Not to mention the enormous Lukaku-shaped hole. I dont care about his attitude, he was a goal machine.

I have nothing against Silva as a person, and he brought us Digne and Richarlison, but he is SO out of his depth. Koeman was worse though, at least Silva actually gives a shit, inept though he is. Koeman just wanted the Barcelona job and fucked off to play golf instead of taking training, the arrogant fat prick.

And WE NEED A DECENT BACKUP KEEPER. Joel was alright but he got fed up of being a backup and went to Spain. Stekelenburg is awful. I have no idea about Lössl. Pickford is a huge liability, and he's cost us a few games. He needs to learn he can and will be dropped if he fucks up.

Did his best to try and hand your neighbours the title last season..one of the worst goal keeping errors in living memory ...something very odd about that goal.he should have been dropped after that match.never took him seriously since, had to be on the take .

And if he wasn’t on the take, I really don’t know what was going through his mind at the time.

I was embarrased for him.id heard about it ,but when i actually saw the incident i just thought you effing clown.supposed to be the England goal keeper??? Against liverpool of all teams, another last min goal.....Id put kyle walker in net rather than this muppet. The only thing id seen on a par with pickfords effort was the millwall keeper v brighton(surprise ,surprise) in the very last min of the fa cup match last season...some big 6 "4 keeper ( cant recall his name, lets call him 'cheat')coming out to gather a harmless high cross ,completely unchallenged....and throws the ball over his head into the net.....the score was 2-1 millwall at the time...

Pickford must have been watching ex england keeper butland at stoke-betting company-city ..now theres a clown on the take if ever i saw one...

Tbh I don't think it was deliberate, it was Pickford being an idiot. The guy lost his head against Newcastle because their fans kept jeering him and ended up costing us the match. He can be good sometimes, but that was a monumental fuck-up and IMO the only reason Silva didn't drop him is because he didn't have much of an alternative. I think Joel had gone by then.

The really annoying thing is that it was at Anfield and us costing them two points would have been a huge deal for them. Klopp was pretty mad after the Goodison derby. But given how bad we are and our injuries, it's going to be awful. I'll be amazed if Silva's still in a job after it, because there's no way we can beat them or even draw, Mike Dean's going to be on the reffing team. Nuff said.

Also, since this is a Man City forum, I can say this: a lot of our fans are immensely delusional and can't accept that we're not the powerhouse we used to be, and that managers like Pochettino and Simeone are not going to want to come to us. They have this idea that if we throw enough money at a big name, he'll come, and fans like me who try to be realistic are accepting mediocrity and are somehow responsible for Everton's failures. I can't even go the game so how I'm affecting the team is beyond me. One of them actually said 'because we're fucking Everton' as a reason for getting big name managers. It's time to wake up and smell the coffee. Leeds used to be powerhouses, as did Forest. They're in the Championship. Times change.

I'd take Rafa. If Steve Bruce can manage on both sides of the divide in Sheffield and Birmingham and the northeast, and Mourinho can manage a rival of Chelsea, Rafa can manage us. I don't care about stuff he said in the past, he's better than Silva and he's not Moyes or Hughes.

Also, he's an emotional type and our fans are always whining about how Silva doesn't act enough like Klopp, so that's a plus.
