That was worth a "like" for the Graham Norton analogy.Everton as a club are so badly run in almost every aspect. It's like a hedge fund for every crank and incompetent in the football world. The board are shambolic in how they operate and that reflects on the pitch eventually. They throw up a scapegoat every so often and think that resolves the problem but it just adds to it as they replace them with someone similar.
Who on earth sanctions the purchase of some of these players - expecting Alli to rescue you from the drop is akin to asking Graham Norton to impregnate your wife. I've watched them all my adult life and this is definitely the worst performing squad I have seen. Part of me wants them to go down so most of them never get the chance to play for the club again and few deserve adulation if we do stay up.
Romanae eunt domus?Yes, they have a rag like sickness throughout the club now.
An absentee owner who may be a proxy for someone else; an eminence grise stinking the place out (Bill C), a load of money spent randomly in the transfer market, no discernable long term plan, losses mounting, an inexperienced manager, no tactical awareness, key players maybe looking to move. It couldn't be much worse. I think they will go down now.
Facilis decensus Averno and all that, it's a long way back.

This one always tickles me.Did City seek or get an apology in 2010 for that ridiculous penalty given against us when Micah Richards pulled Louis Saha’s shirt outside the box but Everton were given a penalty for it?
To be fair to them though, Everton weren’t part of the Spiteful Nine. They were:
United Liverpool Arsenal Spurs Chelsea Leicester Wolves Newcastle and Burnley
Romani eunt domum (statement of fact)Romanae eunt domus?
Sorry, my Latin isn’t what it could be. That’s the only phrase I know, and even that one is grammatically incorrect, I believe.
Some Toffee was on Talk Shite the other day saying he hopes the club goes down so "we can get rid of the dross".Everton as a club are so badly run in almost every aspect. I thought Bernstein and Royle got rid of a lot of those high earners by paying up their contracts. Some Toffee was on Talk Shite the other day saying he hopes the club goes down so "we can get rid of the dross".
A warning to you - unless they are out of contract or anyone else wants them on their high wages you are stuck with them!
City had it the one season in Division 3. We had 54 players on the books including the likes of Nigel Clough on 1st Division wages playing in the Central League....
Be careful what you wish for......
As a linguist, that scene is one of my favourites in Life Of Brian.Romani eunt domum (statement of fact)
Romani ite domum (exhortation)
I'm sure I've remembered some of this wrong, but only a **** would correct me. (Wait for it....)

Yes, he was, shortly after we entered 3rd DivisionI thought Bernstein and Royle got rid of a lot of those high earners by paying up their contracts.
