every match joe messes up

Joe's having a bad time recently, although he did keep us in it on Wednesday night. But I can't believe the amount of people saying get rid, are you being serious? We can't just get rid of players when they have a bad patch, fair enough maybe drop him and give Pants a go. but Joe is still one of the best goalkeepers in the world and has saved our arses many a time.

themadinventor meet oldtrafford, oldtrafford meet themadinventor.

Mancini wanted him gone too Platt backed threat decision so again he is nowhere near the hype surrounding him dictates.

Can't get this, why would a defender head the ball past an onrushing keeper who from the angle of said header should clearly be able to see in time that a backward header is not a good plan, furthermore heading it is ok, but in the direction of the goal and/or the continued run of the attacker rather than a sideways header taking the ball away from immediate dangeris a strange choice. JH maybe was a bit previous rushing out but he would have got to the ball if it had not been headed beyond him, I get the feelin if he'd have stayed on his line and torres had skinned Nasty he would be getting both barrels for not coming out. Hes made far too many errors this year, and I'd be happy to give him stick for them but for me this latest example is a case of bandwagon jumping and lynching the usual suspect ala Kolarov, who its worth saying now is clearly the best LB at the club. We gonna start a witchunt against Gael now too??

1) why does defender ignore the call (you can see it was made)
2) Why does the defender facing the keeper STILL head it. did he have his eyes closed throughout these crucial few seconds, or does he just have appalling reactions
3) Why when choosing to still head it and ignoring a call does he head it in the direction he headed it in.

As stated earlier I get the feeling there are a lot of thick people on here who just follow the herd. Joe gets stick this season and for 80% of the time its been fully deserved, this is not one of those occasions, Nasty who I rate as the most promising young CB in the league is primarily at fault but lets keep hopping around this kangaroo court

For the life of me I can't fathom how you come to your conclusions?

I'm aware Joe makes a call but only when keeper and defender are less than 8 yards apart and closing fast on each other. The call is far too late and Hart is way too far advanced!

He heads it because he has Fernando Torres less than a yard behind him and he heads it wide of goal which is all he can do given Harts poor decision making!

Tell me how YOU would alter the direction of a ball in front of you travelling in the same direction as you're running by more than say 10 degrees?

"As stated earlier I get the feeling there are a lot of thick people on here who just follow the herd"........that's fuckin rich that is!

That would be a good point, apart from the small detail that the day after it was printed, Platt came out and said it was a load of bollocks.

Part of the package when you leave is not slating old players.

A huge mistake indeed.
Even a penalty would have been better

What on earth does Joe try and do there? It's the first time I've seen it from that angle and it looks like he's gone to head it like he did against Sweden. Deary me.
He even took Nasty out, he could have got back after he headed it over Joe!

Didn't notice that, Nasty might've been able to block Torres off if Joe didn't go through him like a runaway train

So you know Mancini and Platt wanted Hart out even though neither has actually ever said it?

I cannot believe there are people blaming Nastastic. You can see clearly that if Hart had stayed home, he comfortably collects that.

Agreed. What on earth was Joe thinking? It looks to me a routine head back to goal, or even a pass and hoof it up field.

This is not a 'bad patch' Hart is going through. This is him, period. He can be magnificent in one game and commit howlers in the next. He had a good 18 months when he made his reputation, but he has been dropping bollocks now which have been costing us games for the last season and a bit. That is not a 'bad patch', that is confirmation of his inconsistency.

If this was one bad game it would be inconsequential, if it was five bad games it would be a 'bad patch', but this isn't that, it has gone on and on and on. I have no confidence that he isn't going to fuck up in a game and more to the point, the rest of the players, after such a protracted period of fuck ups, will have no confidence in him either. It's time to get shut and get a keeper who is up to the required standard. As I've said on an earlier thread on this subject, currently, Chelsea, Spurs, Utd, Liverpool and even Stoke have a better keeper than us.
