Don't know whether this has been mentioned further up this thread but it reminded me so much of the Dec 76 Dave Watson- big Joe error v Liverpool that cost us the title that season :(

Thought it was gary owen.

Dave Watson OG fuck I remember that night like it was yesterday. Supersub Carrot top Fairclough running on to tap it home.

Was that the same game Mike Doyle went for a 50/50 with Clemence well outside the box and Doyle got there first and it agonisingly rolled past the post at the North Stand end or was that a different game?

Good memory cheers. Whilst we're reminiscing about Big Dave what about that header against Ipswich that hit the post :-)

The problem doesn't lie with either of the players, the reason we're getting done by the long ball is because Pellegrine has got his defence playing to high up the pitch. It means Joe has to be on the 18 yard line to play as sweeper hence Joe being told to play last man. How many times have we seen 1 on 1's against Joe this season ? Arsenal pre-season , Cardiff opening day ( Frazier Campbell should have had a hat trick) Villa away Everton Moscow away, now Chelsea there's no way Mancini would have tolerated that amount in a whole season never mind a couple of months its the formation that's a problem not the players.

You may well have a point Stan , but no way should a goalkeeper come charging 22 yards or so out of his goal in the last minute of a game ..... if he hadn't done that and thrown Nastasic into two minds , then Nastasic would have got the ball back to him.

It was a 'suicide' charge , and you could see what was gonna happen even before it occured ...

that one moment of madness spoilt an otherwise excellent City performance , and at times we looked utter class.

Anyone seen the YouTube clip where Hart and Balotelli are practising shots in training? Balotelli scores a goal very easily against Hart and mimics his dive on the floor. Its funny to watch but it seems Mario is showing what he thinks about Joe's keeping by flopping on the floor.

I think it's Pellegrini's fault, he's totally screwed up how our defence plays and we've been punished every match, his rigid inflexibility will really nail us this season if:
A. The players don't adapt and quickly
B. He's not fired and a better manager with more familiar tactics isn't brought in
C. He doesn't revert our style to what it was in order to stop us haemorrhaging goals

Agreed. There may be something in what Stan says, but Hart had no right doing what he did. You just cannot legislate for brain farts of these epic proportions.
