Everything Star Wars

Watched last episode again this morning and it’s just goosebumps at the end, if they can get anywhere near this standard for all the other shows it will be amazing.

I’ve always found sci-fi stuff (as well as the superhero stuff) very naff. Comic book geeks might love it all but I never have.

I thought I’d give Star Wars ago during lockdown and I watched them all in story-chronological order. I only liked Rogue One and Episode VII. Found the old ones very dated and the last two were just the same as all those modern superhero films - too much CGI, no storyline, and pretty much total dross.

But The Mandalorian is cool as fuck, I love it!
Pretty much this, 100%....albeit that the original Star Wars movie, which I queued halfway down Sidwell Street in Exeter to see as a 13 year old, was a cinematic rite of passage. I‘ve never come out of a cinema more blown away by a movie from that day to this.
All of the new films have been fucking awful IMO. Terrible scripts, bereft of plot, way too much CGI, basically just naff, sub-par rip-offs of the original.
The Mandalorian has come as a superb surprise. Can’t wait for season 3, which is scheduled for release in Dec 2021....although it’ll be interesting to see where they take it after that finish to season 2 yesterday! Great stuff

Well as it is he is now Mand'alor so will he be collecting the amourer and thier sect of mandalorians and Bo Katan and her followers and heading home ?

Half of me wants it to just end there. I can't see how they can top it.

The other half of me can't wait to see them try.

The original movies are far and away the best part of the saga but I have enjoyed the other movies and the originals gave me such a deep seated love of Star Wars; not that, despite my online alias, I'm not one of those walking encyclopaedias on the subject. I did once upon a time know a lot about how they made the original trilogy.

Anyhoo, I was suitably predisposed to like The Mandalorian but the man without a name space epic has exceeded expectation. It has become event night TV in our household - well Mrs OB1 doesn't pay it much attention - but the girls and I watch to the end of the credits every time, which was a very good thing last night.

very interesting Rebels was a very good show and brought in a lot to the Star Wars universe, if they go down this route I think it will confuse the hell out of the cinema going public if indeed they go for a new trilogy, unless of course they do it in a series on Disney over time.
Kathleen Kennedy can do one for me, from what I can gather she is the one to blame for punching all these characters Rose etc, trying to shoehorn every conceivable gender etc into a film series. It’s Star Wars just give the fans what they want. Filoni and Favreau get the reigns to take it forward.

Where can you watch it other than Disney plus?

Is it on Sky, Amazon or Netflix?

Tried to Google but didn’t find anything concrete.

Amazing, best thing on tele since prime Game of Thrones (still upset about what they did do that).

I really really hope they wipe the sequels from canon. I think the ending of the finale kind of shows this might happen.

Is it on Amazon or Netflix, or do I have to subscribe to Disney plus?

I have a Disney Plus sub (for my daughter, of course) but you can download BeeTV for free via your browser. Takes just a couple of minutes.

If you have a Chromecast or something similar you can simply cast to your TV.

Mandalorian very much in vein of rogue one (which I think was great) and even Solo, which is underappreciated. If you ignore the episode 7/8/9 sequels there’s a lot of interesting stuff they’ve developed with the side stories, and it seems they have some big ambitions for storytelling.

Can’t wait for the Obi-Wan show!

Well, there's been about 4 good solid episodes throughout the whole series. To think that the ending sequence has been bettered in previous films says a lot about the stunt scenes not really being worked upon.

As for the 'surprise' why the fuck not use Sebastian Stann??

Disney have painted themselves into a corner here unless they re-edit the final scenes later on.

Poor overall.

Nah,youre on your own there pal.

Maybe.

But you look back on the whole event and it's nothing but meandering and navel gazing except for a few eps. The 'Ashoka' episode summed up the whole series, where it could have been so much more, but it's the sum of its parts as the whole thing is shot over 4 months tops and then has to go into post-production.

That leaves not enough time to make great scenes, just mediocre.

I'm a fan of the 'Star Wars' potential and it's nowhere near it.

I honestly don't believe 99% of peope who watch it examine the episodes in such fine detail.I just enjoy the action put in front of me,i dont take it that seriously, and what ive seen in these 2 series has been well up my street where escapism and enjoyment is concerned.
