Everything Star Wars

The mandalorian has shown how star wars should be made, not the last trilogy shite they served up.

Gotta admit when Luke turned up and they mirrored the vader scene from the end of rogue one was top. And then the after credit scene, brilliant
Yes thought the same
i also thought the Jedi seemed ‘grittier’ like, taking no shit. The Luke CGI seemed cold but precise...liked that too

It would be funny as fuck if they used the veil of the force as has been speculated. to sideline JJs wank sequel trilogy and use the mandalorian as a templatw to reset the universe for the better.

Let's be honest JJ Abrams ruined star trek with Into darkness and then tried to do star wars the same way robbing old stories and making a hash of retelling them.

I honestly don't believe 99% of peope who watch it examine the episodes in such fine detail.I just enjoy the action put in front of me,i dont take it that seriously, and what ive seen in these 2 series has been well up my street where escapism and enjoyment is concerned.

Probably true but I'd counter that 99% of viewers are too lazy to actually be interested in storytelling or plot development - they are simply tuning in due to nostalgia and are content to be provided visual candy in the absence of anything substantive

There is zero character development, it's more a live action cartoon than sci fi story

Too lazy? Plot development and storytelling are all well and good but if you turn it into a bore fest full of lore then no one will watch it apart from the 1% who are twatty nerds.

Generally, good storytelling leads to something ultimately & widely watchable - I think the 99% have been dummied down by a lack of story for so long they have forgotten how enjoyable it can be

Thought I’d give this a go as everyone seemed to be raving about it and I found it entertaining. I felt it did capture the western/gritty vibes from the original movies if that was their intention and I was hooked on it.

Never was a massive Star Wars person and I’ve been sort of indifferent to it at times. I think people just need to accept that the movies may not be aimed at them though. The prequels were clearly for the younger audience and the sequels are even more so now it’s in the hands of Disney. I was barely a kid when the prequels came out and i was into it, which makes me wonder if it’s all just an age thing. After the Last Jedi it became apparent to me that it’s not exactly a movie for older audiences so I didn’t bother with the final film. The critics loved TLJ but I couldn’t get my head round any of it.

Would also add I enjoyed Rogue One as well as Solo in some form, despite it being ripped apart by critics.

Just finished Mandalorian season two absolutely brilliant it like an 8 part film! I new when I started watching season one that it was set 5 year after the return of the Jedi so the ending of season two I guessed what was happening.

Is this show worth giving it a go?

I ask as someone who was never into any of the trilogy of trilogies, but I'm open minded about the genre in general.

Liked the original Star Wars Trilogy, wasn't keen on the other 2 at all

The Mandalorian though, just superb!!
