Everything Star Wars

Well, there's been about 4 good solid episodes throughout the whole series. To think that the ending sequence has been bettered in previous films says a lot about the stunt scenes not really being worked upon.

As for the 'surprise' why the fuck not use Sebastian Stann??

Disney have painted themselves into a corner here unless they re-edit the final scenes later on.

Poor overall.

A film compressed into a few hrs needs to be fast flowing, a tv series needs to be paced and a few meandering moments are fine, as long as the plot does sufffer.

The plot didn't suffer from the more mundane minutes of this series.

As a SW fan this was a solid 9/10 as a part of the overall canon

I have been on a couple of Star Wars forums. Many of the posters are near impossible to please but with this series, there has been a clear consensus that it has been brilliant.

It has shown respect for the prequels, sequels, animated series and original trilogy, while reintroducing many of the legends folklore that disney sidelined as non cananical.

I think it has left most SW fans happy

Maybe.

But you look back on the whole event and it's nothing but meandering and navel gazing except for a few eps. The 'Ashoka' episode summed up the whole series, where it could have been so much more, but it's the sum of its parts as the whole thing is shot over 4 months tops and then has to go into post-production.

That leaves not enough time to make great scenes, just mediocre.

I'm a fan of the 'Star Wars' potential and it's nowhere near it.

But it is not the Ashoka show. The story is almost entirely focused on the relationship between Mando and Grogu. To have some big story involving Ahsoka would have moved the series away from what it is about.

She referenced Thrawn, so I guess it is likely that Thrawn and Ezra will appear in her series. A nice lead in. It will certainly raise the interest and much discussion between Star Wars obsessives, attracting interest to the show.

Was it just me who spotted Ashoka's owl in the forest? :)

I honestly don't believe 99% of peope who watch it examine the episodes in such fine detail.I just enjoy the action put in front of me,i dont take it that seriously, and what ive seen in these 2 series has been well up my street where escapism and enjoyment is concerned.
And that's fair enough.

People like the action, cool. Is the best version of 'Star Wars' for me? It's on the right path. I just think they need to commit or let it go.

All in or fold.

Well, it's your opinion and that's fine.

I saw plot holes galore and it did meander for unnecessary reasons. The fact that it rips from 'Lone Wolf and Cub' without establishing the best parts of that relationship is weird to me.

But that's fine as it's Hollywood doing what Hollywood does.

As for canon, it's a side step into it ( yes, it's as Filoni wants), but you'd think there'd be better depth to it than it is. There may yet be much side stepped which will lead back to the current mess that is 'Star Wars'. For example, where the hell does 'Grogu' fit into the timeline?

But, overall, as a fan of the potential of the SW Universe, I'm a little disappointed is all.

Er, no.

I think you miss my point about 'Ashoka' being in an episode. The scenes involving her interactions were slow and ponderous and Dawson had been training for 3 months, so clearly she needs more time to be 'masterful' as a 'Jedi'.

And that was my overall point about how that episode summed up the whole thing, in a nutshell, for me.

Just my opinion.

Plot holes? There are plot holes in every single output from Lucasfilm. There are ploylt holes aplenty in the likes of ANH and ESB. I take them for what they are... Fantasy films made for escapism and are primarily targeted at kids or big kids like me :)

Christ Bigga do you ever just sit down and watch something without pulling it to pieces?

Mando has been what most normal Star Wars fans want.

Its fun. Which was what was missing from the films after the first 3. The same with Star Trek. After Kirk it got all serious. They became all about the lore.

Most people don't really care about the lore, they want fun, action and a bloody good ending. Which is what Mando delivered.
