Evri

That’s not what you said. As for being a clever arse, what fkn response do you expect when you waddle in with all pea shooters blazing, calling people spotty arses and lazy bastards?

Keep digging if that’s what amuses you.

Which it probably does.
Because that's what some people are.
They can't be bothered to get up and fend for themselves. They  must have that packet of pens/ sweatshirt/duvet set etc, delivered within the next 24 hours, because their lives depend on it.

Too many needy people in the world, who won't fend for themselves.

Parcel delivery companies are a great and necessary thing. Delivering bespoke items to your door, from the other side of the country for a few quid serves a purpose. Taking the mundane to houses the next day, because they can't wait, doesn't.

20 years ago, I started a job in this industry (I was office based), and as part of my week's induction, I went out for a day with the depot's star driver, in a 7.5 tonner. Posters on here dont realise the stress that these drivers are under. 80 plus drops a day (at least 40 of these were time critical pre 9am, 1030am, noon), then collections and a definite hour's break for tachograph purposes. These were heavy boxes, too, going to the 9th floor, at the far end of corridors, and signatures were needed. Not just a case of "dropping off at reception "
Hardly any jiffy bags, small parcels envelopes, and you had to deal with some right wankers.
Bear in mind, there was a lot less traffic 20 years ago, and the guy's catchment area was huge.

Some people need to get of their loathsome spotty behinds, and actually get stuff for themselves . Having mundane items delivered to your door when you're able bodied and have a car, is quite pathetic. Go to the place in question, buy your goods in person,....and go to the shop next door and buy something from him, too. It keeps HIS business ticking over , and the general economy.

Covid/lockdown hs turned us onto lazy bastards. Don't get me started on people who have "food" delivered by Just
Eat/Deliveroo....

Maybe if the companies didn’t employ drivers on such shit wages and put them under such stress to achieve unrealistic targets, then people wouldn’t have reason to complain as much?

But that of course would mean accepting slightly less profits, so it obviously won’t happen.

I've just read that Amazon are gonna use drones up in Darlington Having watched the video of an Amazon drone delivery where the box was dropped from about ten or twelve feet and delivered on a nice sunny day I'm rather intrigued how they'd manage in the foothills of the Pennines.

I think retailers should inform their customers who is gonna deliver the item and when we find it's a bunch of cowboys we can look elsewhere.
Would be nice to know if they used plenty of padding if it was a delicate item.

We are retired so we tend to be home more than most. Our Evri delivery lady is excellent and friendly, never yet missed a delivery, either in person or safe place. Not sure about her employers overall, but we always give her a good review.

Well you'll be pleased to know the offending missing item has finally turned up......on Ebay, for sale.....I'm still in talks with Evri about a claim and the ' purchaser ' has just sent me the ebay details he found by pure coincidence. Evri have not only lost it, found it and then sold it on to a 3rd party before I've even put a claim in....great business model for a shower of shysters.

It’s only going to get worse folks.

Evri have wrote the employee’s who have their own full round advising that they are reducing the payments

My friend has worked for Evri in North Manchester for years.

He has a certain area thats his responsibility all year through - he works Monday - Saturday with one day off.

I used to help him out over Christmas when it was mega busy and we did it correctly

If he wants to go on holiday he has to make sure someone covers him, even if he’s ill or his van brakes down.

He know’s the round like the back of his hand and was really good and knew his customers (even gave out his number to some)

He followed instructions and only completed the job when he had a photo with the package in customers hands or in their doorway as per the Evri rules (i know the part-time delivery drivers don’t do this)

He used to earn £1.00 per parcel, this has now been reduced to £0.55 per parcel

Which means he will now be leaving like so many who have full rounds, and these jobs will be given to part-time randoms who don’t know the areas and will put packages anywhere if they actually turn up.

Not all Evri delivery drivers are bad people who didnt give a toss, but the shit will hit the fan when your doorcam show’s a Just Eat driver pulling up and throwing your package over your neighbours back wall

I’ve seen a few people on Facebook saying 1st Feb will be the last day at Evri as it’s not worth it

Just had a similar chat with the guy I used to help out. I asked him if the company was struggling, no, sales are increasing quickly. Management basically think that the drivers are earning too much money. He said that he makes £800 a week after expenses, that's working 7 days a week, at the depot for 5am. Utter wankers. He said he'll make a decision in March.

I hope they go bust.

EVRI were beyond useless with a parcel I bought in December. Their customer support is shite. They tried to blame me first and then the company that I bought the items from.

All the while, their tracking app shows that the last sighting of it was at one of their delivery hubs.

Have you checked your blue bin? Yes.
Was it there? No.
Have your rummaged properly to make sure you haven’t just missed it?
It’s 90 fucking toilet rolls, so no, I haven’t missed it.

Anyway, Groupon refunded me and I forgot about it.

The bog rolls turned up on 10th January.
Who gives a crap? They do a great job of delivering ours.

Assuming the other guy is right about them currently getting £1 per delivery, your guy must be doing what, a thousand drops a week to be clearing £800? He’d need to working about 20 hours a day, every day, to do that.

Not necessarily so, a decent driver who knows his area and customers can get the job done very efficiently, I know good Amazon drivers can easily do 280 parcels in an 8 block in a residential area I’ve seen enough score cards for those drivers they regularly hit 85%-90% against about 10 different parameters, I’m guessing it’s the same for good Evri drivers.

Our Evri guys are pretty efficient one does the driving the other in and out of the vehicle at peak times they can easily do 10 parcels in our drive in a matter of mins. Not sure how they will respond to to having rates slashed can’t see that supporting two of them.

I helped him out a few times and would do 30 drops in 90 minutes around a housing estate. The numbers he gave me stack up but it's hard work. Hopefully Evri will be in deep do do over this because I can't see how it's viable for the operator and they'll have a lot of resignations.

As with Amazon sometimes a house might take 2/3 parcels so it can soon rack up parcels wise which as an Evri courier is a benefit as they get paid per parcel Amazon drivers get a flat daily rates.

I’m in semi retirement now and did 18 months of driver onboarding and management for an Amazon DSP and that includes ride alongs, I thought I’d seen a lot of stuff in life after working overseas commissioning capital equipment for my main career but there’s an awful lot wrong with the whole set up and try as you can to get a better working experience for the drivers Amazon really are “who gives a fuck get the next intake of meat in” but just keep the delivery metrics up.

Thankfully I fucked it right off.

We are fortunate to have a very efficient Evri delivery lady, she is friendly too. We haven’t had one item that hasn’t arrived. To be fair we are retired so sone of us tends to be in most of the day, but she knows the safe place.

They never ever knock for us, the just leave it on our very public doorstep. It drives me mad. I mean we're in, just knock ffs. Even if they knock then walk away, but no - just put in on the step and leg it back to the van to do more deliveries as quick as possible :(
What kind of company marks it as delivered in the tracker with a photo of it in a doorstep, with a closed door. How is that delivered, it's a public doorstep ffs! There used to be someone decent doing the round a couple of years ago, friendly who would properly deliver. I guess he quit. Tho Amazon drivers can be just as bad, the tracker once showed them at the end of the street, and I'm at the door waiting, then it changed to no one was home will received next working day - if they're running late and want to miss you out to make up time just be honest....
Yes I am very grumpy tonight, sorry. Other half only spoke to me and our child for about five minutes of a 12 hour day, and that was to snarl at us. He's turned into a shit and life is horrible. Fed up. So yeah here I am moaning about evri.

Rebranded from Hermes to likely get rid of all the dogshit reviews there. We rarely got parcels delivered from them despite them claiming they had delivered. They operate using a loophole that means the merchant is liable for missing parcels and have to refund you, not the delivery company. Convinced the whole thing is a racket and they are reselling peoples parcels from a seperate warehouse.
