Excited when they signed but turned out to be rubbish

Thats a good shout. Hyped to the max by the football hipsters. Turned out to be utterly mediocre
Funny story - at the time we were linked to him as well as (vaguely) to Cavani. When we got him and not Cavani my annoying football hipster friend said something to the effect of "Cavani would be good for one or two years but with Jovetic you're set for the next ten!"

Eike Immel !worst keeper i have witnessed at city followed by

Martyn Margetson!

Keith MacRae was not to great neither!lol

You mustn't have seen Ronnie Healey.......and Ellegaard must be bracketed with this lot too.

Think he would have been alright if he'd stayed fit. I remember when we signed him, a mate of mine at the time who watched a lot of Serie A said that fans over there called him "the sick boy" because he was always missing from the team with some ailment or other. His actual goals-per-minute ratio was pretty good, he contributed to a goal every 98 mins in the Premier League, but he never got over his injury troubles even after he left. Had the ability, just didn't stay fit.

Was still pretty decent when I saw him captain Montenegro as recent as last year, even after all his troubles. Had more than enough talent, his body (and maybe his head) just didn't cut it in top level football

Healey was slightly before my time, but a Blue I used to know always insisted that a bigger cause than the signing of Rodney Marsh for our failure to win the title in 1971/72 was Ron Healey having to play the last seven games or so of the season.

Ellegaard is a good shout for a terrible 'keeper. Him playing against Spurs in the FA Cup in January 2004 (the home draw before the replay featuring the amazing comeback) was the only time I ever saw defenders dropping back to try to protect a specialist goalkeeper like they often used to back in the day when there were no sub 'keepers and you got an outfield player having to keep goal instead.
