To be fair to him his goals did probably save us from relegation that season.Emile Mpenza - for some reason I thought he was going to be out next Anelka…
Totally agree - I just thought from there he would have pushed on and become great for us.To be fair to him his goals did probably save us from relegation that season.
Earliest city memories for me. Vic Gomersal was another, Bacuzzi"s understudy , and a wing half/ defender type Mike 'fatty' Batty I also remember.Dave Bacuzzi came from Arsenal a seemed like a good player but never really delivered. Arthur Mann came in from Hearts and also made little impression.
The mid late 1960s team did seem to have a problem with full backs to replace Barrie Betts and Cliff Sear. They ended up with doing without full backs for much of the time with Tony Book playing as sweeper on occasions and Glyn Pardoe in the number 3 shirt was more of a midfielder (not unlike Zinchenko or even Cancelo now). Bobby Kennedy, another midfielder would also play a lot at full back.
Isaksson.

For the little time he spent on the pitch Negouia crammed a lot, in blatant handball goal, a couple of red cards inc one within minutes of entering the pitch. Also seem to recall he sought his own unapproved medical treatment, all this from the guy KK described as his most exciting signing.Keegan was great at talking up a new signing. I remember him talking about Christian Negouai like he was some sort of nailed on super star.
He got sent of on his only start i think and despite being with us for 4 years he just disappeared of the face of the earth. His only contribution is that it turns out at some point he dodged a drugs test and got away with it and it was used by Rio as precedent in his case.
Remember thinking he might be a decent signing, recent Italian international....reality starting to sink in with the debut red card, didnt get much better.I still blush with embarrassment at this tw@ts goal celebrations...... I give you Bernardo Corradi.
Simplified just Utter dog shit
Only time i remember him playing was a pre season game at HalifaxSimon Colosimo
