Lavezzi has just 37 goals in 146 games for Napoli. Tevez went on a run where he got that many goals in about 40-45 games.

I would cry if Mancini thinks Lavezzi can replace Tevez.

WARNING! Mancini rated JO............................

No he didn't.

Mancini RATED Jo, he had faith in Jo but Jo failed to repay this faith and bottled it.

Yeah, because he was never going to be good enough. All im saying is airing a view that Mancini made a mistake showing faith in someone most of us knew from the start was a very poor footballer.
Everything Ive seen so far suggests no one rates this Lavezzi guy, yet Mancini does. I just hope its not another JO thats all.

im not a fan. where have these rumours come from anyway?

Most recently, Mancini's agent talking on Italian Radio, even suggested Barry could be used as a make-weight, which has been denied by the club already. If Mancini's agent is talking about Barry like that, it does make you wonder as to his future, though that's another topic.

While Barry spends most of next Season sitting on his very slow bottom - perhaps we could; teach him Italian, a bit about growing Olives, assasination techniques etc.
That way he'd be a better proposition for getting rid of in January!

-- Thu Jul 07, 2011 1:01 pm --

Yes he did - and why the hell else was he constantly picking him at the start of the Season? I'll dig out the quotes from Mancini to prove it, but its common knowledge he chose him over Bellamy anyway.

TRY THIS : Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini confident Jo can fill void ...

10 Sep 2010 ... Roberto Mancini has insisted he has complete faith in Jo, the much-maligned
Manchester City forward, after being left without £90 million ...

TBH, Mancini wouldn't have come out and publicly said that Jo's shit thus destroying his confidence further. What Mancini did say was that he had faith in Jo because Jo caused Inter no manna of problems when he played against them for CSKA (or whoever it was he played for) in the Champions League.

During last pre-season all prejudices aside, Jo was surprisingly our best and most effective forward throughout pre-season, it was just a shame that once the real-season started that he reverted to type! :-(

I think the fact that Jo barely made the squad never mind the first team in the second half of the season when we were struggling squad-wise shows ultimately what Mancini thinks of him and where his future lies in the bigger picture.

He preferred JO to Bellamy - end of.....................

That's just not true, there are a really broad range of opinions on him on here all the way from utter shit to pure quality. Admittedly the majority seem to be erring on the side of utter shit but then I do wonder how many have really seen that much of him. Personally, my immediate reaction was one of disappointment but based on nothing as I haven't seen him play, I wonder how much of that is going on because he isn't seen as a big name signing. Dax seems to know his stuff and has supposedly seen plenty of him and his description of him sounded promising.

this guy isnt tevez' replacement! he will be option 2 instead of sanchez, he will play on the right, left or throught the middle of the attacking 3, wiht either balo or dzeko in front...

Lavezzi-Nasri?-Silva
------Balo/Dzeko

he has the pace and skill to beat all the leftbacks in this league and he does chip in with goal now and then, plus he gets assists
